where does the Goblin King's line come in? I've watched the vlog and didn't catch it.
So Frodo Baggins boarded the great ship and passed on into the west till the sweet fragrance on the air filled his sense and the sound of singing came over the water. Then it seemed to him that, as in a dream, he beheld white shores and beyond them a far green country. This has been my speculation for a while. I was confused and a little dismayed when I saw that he didn't have a beard, so I've been hoping that they incorporate it into the story. Im assuming that is a show of mourning, or perhaps shame; perhaps as exiled king he is not worthy of his dwarven beard until his kingdom is reclaimed?

and has a nest under his hat. It fits with Radagast's other name (Aiwendil) which means "bird-friend". I like the character, bird poo and all, and I don't know why others wouldn't like him; guess I'm not that picky, and just excited that Radagast IS included!

When Saruman belittled Raddy in LotR, let's consider the source; a haughty, imperious, power-hungry, war-mongering git who'd allied himself with the Dark Lord and whose disregard for the natural world would turn around and bite him on the arse. Seriously, could Saruman in AUJ be faulted for thinking of Raddy as a fool if he's portrayed by PJ as the village idiot who trundles around with bird poo on his head while talking like a two-year-old?

My point wasn't so much that he talks to animals (which is fine and in character) as his voice, which makes him sound dim/imbalanced IMO. A better example is his line in Trailer 2, where he sounds really silly.

And I think Radagast's care for the forest creatures grants him a measure of dignity that doesn't rely on his appearance. I'm really glad he is in this story.

Just a very few short scenes. I am really looking forward to seeing how his character is fleshed out, so to speak. Gandalf never criticizes Radagast (not that I've read anyway), and describes him in the Hobbit as "my good cousin Radagast", acknowledging him as a fellow Wizard. So I suspect that some dignity and power will be ascribed to Radagast.

Actually, the representation that one would have to be "simple/childish/a crazy hermit in appearance" in order to have closeness with/care about nature is vaguely condescending, IMO.
Additionally, one can't sit there wondering why the Valar sent him over to ME in the first place. Gandy was similarly written as a cranky hermit, complaining about his aches and pains and wondering why the Valar gave him this "old man's body" in early drafts of LotR, (there's probably that old script review kicking around someplace) but was wisely rewritten to more closely approximate the Angelic Immortal Spirit that he is.

was a result of Saruman's twisted, corrupted viewpoint after his allegiance with Sauron, not because it was so.
Gandy's not demeaning Raddy doesn't really tell us anything about the Brown Wizard, it simply tells us about Gandy.
Should Theoden have had poop on his head and spoken in a childish voice in LotR simply because Saruman yelled at him that he was dotard? 
Despite PJ's many talents as a filmmaker and my great appreciation for his LotR films, I have to agree with those who've stated subtlety is often not one of his strong points. There are other times however, particularly in quite exchanges of dialogue, where he can craft greatly subtle moments...I was hoping Raddy would be more an enigma and less comedic relief.

But I still suspect that an Angelic Immortal Spirit can afford not to care that much about some things and devote more attention to other things.
