New pic of Bilbo in French Premiere mag Can't Post

Bilbo lounging around Bag End with a cup.

You can see Ori working on his book in the background. Smile

From this issue. I assume this is upcoming, and not already on the shelves?

Have we seen that family tree looking thing before? [In reply to] Can't Post

It's behind Bilbo to the right -- can't make out any of the writing.

Nice picture! [In reply to] Can't Post

Seems to be contemplating the Quest. Perhaps this is when he has his conversation with Gandalf?

Memory blip [In reply to] Can't Post

I have a feeling the family tree was first shown in the annual/almanac. Don't hold me to that though! Crazy

The tree is centred on Bilbo. I could try getting a bigger picture?

There is a very small pic of the family tree [In reply to] Can't Post

In the Empire Mag, along with a floor plan of Bag End. The print isn't readable though.

That might be it [In reply to] Can't Post

But I'm sure there is a big version in one of the new books or magazines. I remember thinking it was nice for Bilbo to be at the trunk and xxxxx Hobbit at the top.

Wonderful picture... [In reply to] Can't Post

and if you scroll down through the article in Premiere there's a new pose of Bilbo with Sting on their front cover:

Presumably this is from Riddles?

Wasn't it on the calendar or something? [In reply to] Can't Post

I have a vague memory of a hazy imprint of the family tree being superimposed over the "creepy Bilbo" image?

Ah, yes... [In reply to] Can't Post

Did you see there's also a close-up picture of Bilbo's beautifully drawn engagement calendar (just the April page,) with his handwritten notes, hanging in a frame on the wall of Bag End on p15 of the Sibley book?

Great colours in this one. [In reply to] Can't Post

Looks very Rackham-esque. Also Martin Freeman is probably at his most Bilbo-ish yet.

That's a great shot [In reply to] Can't Post

Great composition, and great colors. It may be one of my favorite shots thus far from Bag End.

However, its not completely new. It was featured on the Tolkien Brasil site. See here.

I dub this image "Virile Bilbo." [In reply to] Can't Post

Ah the French and their superimposition. This cover is much better than Creepy Bilbo.

Is having a nervous breakdown with so many Dwarves around.Laugh
