Blunt the knives.Should be a classic with the ensemble cast performing it.Bilbo is going to be in a world of frustration no doubt.Laugh

Wow! Lots of clues... [In reply to] Can't Post

If this set list is chronological, which is what it seems to be, then there's some interesting clues as to when we will meet some of the characters such as Radagast, or when the White Council Meeting will take place. I'm curious as to why 'Warg-scouts' is before the Rivendell music.

But I guess at the same time PJ's probably still moving things around. Thanks for the post! Smile

Interesting [In reply to] Can't Post

"An Ancient Enemy" is in between Bag End and Trollshaws - could this be the Barrow-downs?

And what about "The Hill of Sorcery" and "Warg-scouts" before reaching Rivendell? Not sure how Dol Guldur can fit in so early? And I wonder if "The Defiler" is in reference to The Necromancer, or Saruman?

So many things to speculate on. Cool

Awesome news, thank you for finding and posting! [In reply to] Can't Post

I love the artwork, especially the extended edition!

The track list is great, there seems to be a track included for each important beat in the film, expectedly and thankfully often using chapter titles from the book, as in the LotR soundtracks. Going through the track list feels a bit like going through the whole story, just wonderful!

And great that they seem to include the major part of the score even as standard release, on two CDs. Though that could possibly mean we'll get no extra complete music set like with LotR, who knows.

Axe or Sword? [In reply to] Can't Post

Maybe this is about Thorin choosing between weapons.Maybe he starts off with an axe and can't decide wether he wants Orcrist or his trusty Axe. lol i don't know.WinkLaugh

Azog the Defiler [In reply to] Can't Post

In Reply To
"The Defiler" is in reference to The Necromancer, or Saruman?

The earlier character briefs referred to "Azog the Defiler". Now (possibly) changed to Yazneg.

Probably we are going to cut to Dol Guldur during the Rivendell sojourn in the same way that LotR occasionally cut to Orthanc and Mordor.

Could be... [In reply to] Can't Post

I thought maybe it was referring to The Long Expected Party... I really hope it's not included. It plays with the narrative too much.

Quote
An Unexpected Party (Extended Version)

The World is Ahead

Not much comment, apart from the inclusion of another song from the book.

Quote
An Ancient Enemy
Radagast the Brown (Extended Version)

It's not clear if this enemy is encountered by the Company or Radagast, but it seems likely that Gandalf does leave the dwarves before the Trollshaws as a result of encountering Radagast.

The Trollshaws
Roast Mutton (Extended Version)
A Troll-hoard

Follows the book.

Quote
The Hill of Sorcery
Warg-scouts

Probably a flash to Dol Guldur, showing wargs being sent out (after Gandalf or Radagast?)

DISC 2:

Quote
The Hidden Valley
Moon Runes (Extended Version)

Map reading takes place before the white council meeting.

Quote
The Defiler

Smaug is ancient enough to count perhaps?

Certainly I think "The Defiler" will be a flashback to Azog.
