Tall Paul Randall finished with The Hobbit and back on the beat Can't Post

This is an interesting article about scale double actor Tall Paul's other career.

Screencap from Hobbit production video #8:

Paul with crew on The Hobbit final day of principal photography. He and fellow actor Kiran Shah have worked in both The Hobbit and LOTR to create changes in scale between actors playing hobbits, men, elves, and wizards.

Always seemed like an interesting bloke [In reply to] Can't Post

Shame he only got brief mentions in the DVD, whereas the small scale doubles had long sections for them! Sean Astin's quote is the best, "We call him Tall Paul, which is sort of redundant since if you know Paul, you understand how tall he is." (Paraphrased, of course)

Great link -- US size 18 boots! [In reply to] Can't Post

And now that he's back on duty, I'm so glad he got a warm jersey in his size so he's not freezing on the parade ground anymore. Sounds like everyone on the films enjoyed working with him too.

...one morning long ago in the quiet of the world, when there was less noise and more green... The Hobbit
