Who is your favourite Witch/Sorceress?

Following from yesterday's poll, who is your favourite female witch/sorceress/spellcaster? Note: Once again, Tolkien characters are NOT allowed. This means that characters who fit into this category (such as Galadriel), cannot be used. Once again the options are generally only some of the most well known witches, so your preferences are highly valued!

I'm also very partial to the Glinda in the Oz books (not the one from the movie or the one from Wicked). But I love McGonagall because she reminds me of me :-)

I like a "light touch" on magic use - and I like to see witches 'getting on with every day' life rather than having life revolve around magic. I think it is a sign of a stable, strong (and subtly clever) person if they can stay mostly 'under the radar' and fit into life well in spite of some kind of magical association they might have. http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0046058/

What I particularly love about her is her relationship with Merlin, & how it is her that brings about his imprisonment in the glass tower

I also love Hermione, Molly Weasley, and Luna Lovegood from HP. But you also can't beat Terry Pratchett's Granny Weatherwax with her "headology," and Nanny Ogg

Who else could move an entire kingdom ahead in time? Her apprentice Tiffany Aching is pretty impressive too. Not many witches can face down the Queen of the Fae at 11 years old.
