Hidden Hobbit movie set stay extended Can't Post

From stuff.co.nz:
A Hobbit movie set discreetly hidden in the Maupuia bush will remain for up to 16 extra months and walkers may be able to get close enough to check it out.
Resource consent to keep the set at the site until December 31 next year has been approved by Wellington City Council.
... According to the resource consent, the set had been due to be removed by August 31 this year, but that date would be pushed back to December 31, 2013 at the latest to shoot the ''second'' film.

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded b*****d with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

Reference [In reply to] Can't Post

This article also notably references the Guardian article being discussed in another thread. ("Critique of The Hobbit trilogy in today's Guardian.")

Edit: Actually, this article is a reaction piece to the other article. The quote you mention does not appear. I think that link does not mean what you think it means. Wink

Edit 2: That's better!

I remember seeing that set in the spring . . . [In reply to] Can't Post

. . . ah, did anyone ever figure out what the set IS?

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began
Now far ahead the Road has gone
And I must follow, if I can

"Thorin sat up with a start. 'Something is not right,' he muttered to himself as he stood up and
looked towards the mirror . . . . . . . . . 'Durin's bones', he gasped, 'what's happened to my beard?'"

How Strange this came up? [In reply to] Can't Post

Every once in awhile I combine Ian Brodie's LOTR
"Location Guidebook" with GoogleEarth
and fly over the Spots.

Only about a week ago...I was Snooping around Miramar and the Studios..
could easily pick out the Dale set and Massive Green Screen wall behind..
yet someone who lives there
Like Moahunter could zoom us all in
Where between Crawford prison and The Memorial. And maybe do a Screen Cap?
Maybe?

You may be looking at an old view. [In reply to] Can't Post

I believe that there was a set for Kingdom Come built at Stone Street but that was taken down and a Hobbit set built there too.
I can't tell you more because of the NDA.
But there have been pics. on this forum.
