"Did you know: Dwarves are very proud of their beards. The bigger the beard, the more impressive the dwarf!" Thorin must be a nobody then

Yeah, I found it a little humorous that they would write that.

Will the flashback to the Dwarven-Goblin war be during the Goblin Town adventure?

If Thorin's history in the war is connected to his treatment in the hands of the Great Goblin, that could indeed be a good place for that flashback sequence. Dwarves and Bilbo could be spending some time together while prisoners, and some of the Dwarves, such as Balin or Dwalin, could explain the old hostility to Bilbo. Or just a good old honest flashback to some of their memories. Also, thanks for the link!

I run a Richard Armitage website There's not much new in the annual to be honest, it's a puzzle book for children essentially.

I won't put all my faith in an activity book description being accurate, but it's the first mention of the Arkenstone so far.

. . . I'm with you . . . as part of my signature will show!
The Road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began Now far ahead the Road has gone And I must follow, if I can "Thorin sat up with a start. 'Something is not right,' he muttered to himself as he stood up and looked towards the mirror . . . . . . . . . 'Durin's bones', he gasped, 'what's happened to my beard?'"

It seems they originally had Richard with a fake beard, crazy forehead piece and different nose to what we're seeing in these pics. I'm glad they changed it cause he just looked weird before.

I thought i'd seen all of those pics, and then I saw the Thorin page and the pic with Dwalin and Balin w/Bilbo in the back. Nice shot! And, I hadn't seen the shot of Thorin with his original sword . . . I LIKE that sword, and it looks right on Thorin's hip. . . . don't get me wrong, I love the Orcrist sword . . . but, I love it as a beautiful sword, a piece of crafted art . . . however . . . honestly, that sword IS NOT Orcrist . . .

I'm still not quite used to the idea of 'hot Dwarves'.

Only fans made them look ugly. To me, they've ever only been rugged... and hairy... which doesn't need to be bad. But no Michelin Men.

He has a few 'unofficial' ones but no official site. I honestly didn't notice you'd written 'his' website, I was just saying 'that's my site' Other snippets? There are brief character descriptions for each dwarf (2 per page) and a double-page spread for Bilbo, Thorin and for Gandalf, single pages for Elrond, Gollum and Thranduil. A few choice lines: Fili - a skilled fighter... Fili has never travelled far in the world Kili - ...usually acts before he thinks. Courageous and brave, Kili aims to make a name for himself...an expert with a bow. Balin - wise and gentle at heart...Uncertain of the wisdom of even starting out on such a dangerous path, Balin is not sure any of them will return alive. Dwalin - never afraid to say what is on his mind, no matter what people might think...famous warrior. Oin - Oin has spent a large sum of money to pay for Thorin's quest Gloin - a temper almost as large as his strength and bravery...one of the only dwarves who is married Bofur - always willing to see the best in whatever life brings his way Bombur - chief cook...quite a fighter Dori - strongest of all the Dwarves...never looks on the bright side Nori - always up to something...expert at picking locks Ori - a brilliant artist...a surprising amount of courage and determination Bifur - unable to talk, Bifur grunts and uses hand signals to communicate Most pages have quizzes, puzzles and games for children.

All of these descriptions sound much like the English translations of the German descriptions. Bodes well for the rest being accurate.

What did Oin have to pay for? Food? Horses? Armour? Perhaps being a herbalist is more profitable than being a blacksmith

I definitely do not like the one we have now, probably partly due to it's low quality. I guess we'll have to wait for the trailer (if he's even in it).
