I think that he is probably going to play devil's advocate about Thranduil, probably going to stick up for Bilbo etc. Also someone this makes sense with the alleged "drake tamer" kind of side -interesting to see how this works with Beorn's animals. I can almost see him as a Steve Irwin type. I reckon that he might be slightly similar to Raddy.

With Bofur being the optimist and always seeing the good in people, I think he might be the first dwarf to warm to Bilbo. There is a shot in one of the production vlogs that features the company in Rivendell, Bofur pulls Bilbo back from what I presume is the elvish calvary we see in the trailer. Also is this a new photo of Gollum I don't think I've seen it before. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/...-serkis.html#a403407
Yes, my username is terrible.

The Road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began Now far ahead the Road has gone And I must follow, if I can "Thorin sat up with a start. 'Something is not right,' he muttered to himself as he stood up and looked towards the mirror . . . . . . . . . 'Durin's bones', he gasped, 'what's happened to my beard?'"

He reminds me so much of Alan Rickman as the sheriff of Shirwood Forrest in Robin Hood from the Kevin Costner film "Prince of Thieves". Anyone agree?

But I couldn't post because I had to go college. He also, rather unenthusiastically, said something like "I hope they're [the movies] will be good. But you never know with these things" I think maybe he meant, because so much is green-screened it's hard for him to say how good the final product will look?

I posted some pics earlier, but you've already created another thread - thanks, was just about to do that! The Digital Spy piece was lifted from James Nesbitt's interview on ITV's Daybreak this morning. I uploaded it to youtube. Apologies for the poor quality at the start, but the audio should be fine.

Yes, that's exactly it. That link shot, with the hair and the SHORT beard . . . he looks like Rickman's sheriff, except for Thorin's gray streaks.

I think it's just as much a part of his comedy as anything else.
"...and his first memory of Middle-earth was the green stone above her breast, as she sang above his cradle while Gondolin was still in flower."
