I just prefer my way of saying Radagast . I've tried finding a clip of someone saying it my way, but I can't find any. I've seen/heard some before, I'm not alone! I wonder how the general audience will say Smaug?

Just like with Smaug i think with Radagast there are two obvious ways to say it. Unfortunately you picked the 'wrong' one for each, lol. I think the general audience will say both like we do, but then after the films the amount of people saying it Smowg will grow massively and we will be a dying breed haha.

I actually wanted The Battle of Five Armies instead of There and Back Again

I think that There and Back Again would've worked better if it was the title of the whole trilogy instead of The Hobbit. For it to be the title of the third movie it would feel more like Already There and Back Again or The Rest of The Way There and Back Again. I understand why people wouldn't like the The Battle of Five Armies for the title but in my opinion it would be the best title ever, though I did think Attack of The Clones was an epic title too... The Desolation Of Smaug is a perfect title for second movie, really what else could it be?

I wonder how they are going to relate the title of the film, to what we actually see

The Desolation of Smaug refers to the large geographical area which Smaug destroyed. Not particularly relevant to the actual film - can we expect lots of flashbacks, unraveling the events, during the Dwarves journey?

what would you rather it had been? I think it's better if the titles are actual chapter names or other significant phrases from the book instead of something made up like An Unexpected Journey was

Yeah, you're probably right Daniel, they might indeed focus more in the 2nd film on Dwarven history perhaps..

.., on the Physical Desolation that he caused, as well as of course his own Desolation. Clever use of words IMO.

It's taken from "An Unexpected Party" and just changed the word Party to Journey to make it more relevant to the film ;)

4th July is an American holiday

Looking at the calendar for July 2014, the Fourth of July that year is on Friday. It would seem to make a lot more sense if they released it on July2 - a Wednesday - giving them the full 5 day weekend like has been done before. The rest of the world doesn't celebrate July 4th so moving the release to suit one holiday in one country makes little sense for an internationally released film.

It is one market but by far the biggest market. Studios release big tentpoles on July 4th every year. Having said that, i dunno what is already opening on that weekend in 2014, maybe there's already competition. And it's not like July 18 has done badly for WB, the last two Batmans and the last Harry Potter have done well on that date (or thereabout).

- that is, with hard 'g'. Unless it were Anglo-Saxon. In defence of this point; I was listening the other day to a recording of a very illuminating talk by Brian Sibley, on the subject of the BBC's 1981 adaptation of LotR. far from being 'curmudgeonly', as I've seen him described on these boards recently - ahem - Christopher Tolkien gave the scriptwriters a lot of invaluable help, in the form of a taped pronounciation guide. This guide was typed up for use of the cast and production crew; copies were made available to the Tolkien Society for sale to its members. I still have mine. As part of his talk, Brian played an excerpt of Christopher's tape to the audience. Christopher pronounced Thengel as 'Thenjel'. Brian switched off the tape, and told his audience that he'd written to Christopher querying this, and that CT had replied that he was mistaken. 'Thengel' - with a hard 'g' - was the way his father pronounced the name, and therefore correct. Mind you, 'Thenjel' would have been the correct way to pronounce the name in Anglo-Saxon - So now we know!
