Check the link out - the 3D glasses are awesome! http://www.comingsoon.net/...vienews.php?id=93171 The 3D normal glasses hurt my ears already - these will do the same - but I can't stop laughing hahaha!

Getting a pair for sure! I am not normally fussy about the glasses as i dont find them uncomfortable or anything. These look if anything more uncomfortable, lol. Still want a pair!

Wonder if they will be for the first couple of screenings, or whether we have to buy them separately?

It would certainly be worth looking into.

When HP was out they made some real3d limited edition glasses for the movies. They were sold on the desk to tempt you when you bought the tickets, i could imagine some cinemas doing the same. They do say they are limited edition so i imagine if you went to one of the first few days of screenings then you could get them at the cinema. If not i am sure somewhere online will be stocking them. :)

I thought I'd open the link and find the frames to be two oversized One Rings. I like these though. If they're available in the UK I'll pick up a pair. I try and reuse 3D glasses as much as possible, a Hobbit pair is motivation enough to keep them safe and do just that.

If I remember rightly, the side of the glasses aren't too disimilar to the design of the key to the secret door. Others that saw the picture may agree/disagree?

1) The glasses are advertised for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. What does this suggest? 2) It says: Make sure your cinema is the only place to see this much-anticipated film with a uniquely designed folding arm frame and hammer forged steel look. These collectibel glasses are available now! Please contact your sales representative for more details. Cinema suggests the UK - the rest of the world use theater/theatre. And is this an advertisement for cinemas to buy the glasses, or for the public?

That would make sense from going on past experience of seeing special limited edition real3D glasses on sale at the cinema such as HP glasses. They will buy a case for 100 pounds and sell them on at 1000 pounds, lol.

Will the staff allow us to bring them inside?

I have a couple of pairs of regular real3D glasses which go into the cinema with me to watch 3D films. I dont want to have to buy a pair each time!

Wearing them for 3 hours. My ears would fall off, and I would have a red gash between my eyes for quite a while.

If they are now for sale, it pretty much confirms the film title won't change.

Well, there's a line. But the larger the glasses are the more of your peripherals they will fill. Plus it makes them more comfortable over prescribed glasses.

And yeah, they've sure started calling it a "trilogy" pretty quickly.
My Top 5 Wish List for "The Hobbit" 5. Legolas will surf down Smaug's neck 4. Bilbo will be revealed to a Robot 3. Naked PJ cameo as Ghan-Buri-Ghan 2. Use of not only 3D, but smell-o-vision, plus the inclusion of axes coming out of the seats and poking the audience when appropriate 1. Not only keep the claim that Thorin & Co. ran amok in Mirkwood "molesting people", but depict said incident in vivid detail!!!!!
