I doubt that anyone has finished it in one readthrough, but I could be surprised.
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle.

took me two days. I did sleep a little and eat a little . . . I think. That was my first read. I then re-read it twice over in the next week. It was a revelation.

actually I think I was really lucky, because I was at this very cool camp where they let me stay in the "library" and read all I wanted. If I'd been at home, Mom would never have let me hibernate away from chores like that.

I dont think i could ever read it that fast. The first time i read it, it took me over a year , after that i read it at a much more normal pace. Quickest i have ever read it was over 6 days, one book each day. I was reading for around 12 hours each day as well! I never thought of myself as a slow reader but now i certainly do, haha. My mum wasnt happy with me reading so much for that week of the summer holidays, i think the week after i went hiking near enough every day to 'make up for it' lol.

I just can't do it! I read at quite a quick pace, but non-stop reading does my head in. Subconsciously, I associate long periods of reading with journal articles

but I believe it was about six. As I've said a'fore, I'm an ABYSMALLY SLOW reader - most of my friends can knock out a 400 page novel in an evening and it takes me 2 weeks or so to read something of that length so six chapters of anything is really a long time reading for me. I may have gotten to eight or more as I know I've gone from breakfast to bedtime reading LotR before. My retention, fortunately, is scary-good!
