Jackson's Facebook Can't Post

Did anyone else notice that Peter Jackson posted 7 photos to a new albumn called "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" about a half hour ago?

They are all publicity photos that have already been released but I wonder if this means they are getting ready to post something new?

Or I suppose it could mean nothing at all I just found it odd that he would create that albumn now considering we've already seen them unless he has something new to add.

When I saw it [In reply to] Can't Post

I got excited and thought they were 7 new pictures. Alas, they weren't Frown

As you suggest though, it's a little odd. Maybe he has made an album for future/upcoming pictures? Maybe something this weeked for Easter?

Yes, nothing much to see [In reply to] Can't Post

It struck me more than before that the shot of Bilbo reading the contract whilst the dwarves look on is very much a 3D-friendly thing. That was about the extent of my interest.

Remember, we're the most-informed [In reply to] Can't Post

Folks who are on TORN are the best-informed fans of the movies. We're the first to see pictures, v-logs, Facebook posts, etc. The marketing of these movies has already been planned and what you're seeing on Facebook is part of the execution of that plan. They hope to reach hundreds of millions of people and 90% of them haven't been paying as much attention as we have.

So in the coming months, we will be seeing pictures, interviews, stories and videos that seem like old news to us, but are new to the vast majority of the eventual movie audience for The Hobbit films. It's great to be an insider, and get the news first, but that also means that we get a lot of repitition! Crazy.

I do think we will begin to see more in the coming months. Summer is a big movie season, and that's when WB will be building anticipation for The Hobbit. Exciting times are ahead!

Perilous to us all... [In reply to] Can't Post

Yield not to the temptation to use these devices to peer backwards into the forgotten past: ‘For perilous to us all are the devices of an art deeper than we possess ourselves.

‘And how it draws one to itself! Have I not felt it? Even now my heart desires to test my will upon it, to see if I could not wrench it from him and turn it where I would to look across the wide seas of water and of time to Tirion the Fair, and perceive the unimaginable hand and mind of Fëanor at their work, while both the White Tree and the Golden were in flower!’ He sighed and fell silent.

…all eyes looked upon the ring; for he held it now aloft, and the green jewels gleamed there that the Noldor had devised in Valinor. For this ring was like to twin serpents, whose eyes were emeralds, and their heads met beneath a crown of golden flowers, that the one upheld and the other devoured; that was the badge of Finarfin and his house.
The Silmarillion, pp 150-151
while Felagund laughs beneath the trees
in Valinor and comes no more
to this grey world of tears and war.

some things were lost and forgotten [In reply to] Can't Post

Link to album (clicky!)

I remember the contract one, and the Gandalf reclining one, and the Bilbo resolutely setting out one, but there are some I had either not seen or forgotten.

But this one with dwarves, a confused Bilbo and food I don't remember

We of course saw the PJ and Martin's giant feet one a lot too.

There is one of Gandalf thoughtful in bag end which is very similar to the trailer also- but I don't recall seeing all of these.

Thanks for sharing!
