Upon watching the latest video blog again just now, something struck me that I don't think has been mentioned or discussed to any detail (hey, we need something to speculate about!!)
At ~10:10 Graham McTavish says something along the lines of: "scene 88 I think is actually going to be a third film between the first and second." Since this appears right after the Warg jokes, I had always assumed it had something to do with the warg/orc scene at the open glade (i.e. after the Misty Mountains).
However, later on in the video blog, we are shown a clapperboard for the Mirkwood barrel escape:

To me that says scene 50. Although, anyone who has better eyesight or more knowledge of clapperboards may need to correct me.
Now I thought this would be of interest to some, since there has been much discussion regarding the break between AUJ and TABA.
So, what is this "Scene 88"? What happens during it, why is it going to be so massive, and where will it appear? Speculate to your hearts content!

to the length of the filming for that scene, I would assume they either did a lot of takes, or lots of different very long takes so PJ could pick his favourites, I am guessing from the preceding clip it was running shots through the environment, there may also have been some fighting given how they were carrying their weapons. The joke being we have filmed so much over the last few days for this scene that we could stitch it together into a feature length film and release it between the other 2.

after barrels out of bonds, and the terrain seems to be dry open scrub, I guess it must be near Erebor. Perhaps on the way to the mountain or when they are looking for a way in?

I had always assumed that he meant it was a "big and epic" scene that simply deserves it's own film.
The thing is though, if scene 88 takes place after Barrels out of Bond, then doesn't that put the split between the films much later in the book than we had anticipated?
