...yeah, they caught 14 of them in the attic in December (little flying squirrels). I keep forgetting; I need to remember to be thankful every day and every night that they are gone. Not for the faint of heart!

Except that regular, non-fast food stuff makes me feel overfull, too. When I was having the worst problems, even a simple bowl of cereal made me sick. It seems to be how much and how fast I eat that causes the problems, and not really what I'm eating.

for your sister's young niece. If there is something to fix, this the best time to do it with the resiliency and healing power of the young. Have a fine time this weekend and congratulations on a dynamic start to a new vibrant way of life:) I am truly delighted for you:).
''Sam put his ragged orc-cloak under his master's head, and covered them both with the grey robe of Lorien; and as he did so his thoughts went out to that fair land, and to the Elves, and he hoped that the cloth woven by their hands might have some virtue to keep them hidden beyond all hope in this wilderness of fear...But their luck held, and for the rest of that day they met no living or moving thing; and when night fell they vanished into the darkess of Mordor.'' - - -rotk, chapter III Faerie contains many things besides elves and fays and besides dwarfs, witches, trolls, giants or dragons; it holds the seas, the sun, the moon, the sky; and the earth, and all things that are one in it: tree and bird, water and stone, wine and bread, and ourselves, mortal men, when we are enchanted." — J.R.R. ...and I really enjoy making it. But I don't crave it except when it's cold and dark. Something about the cold and dark brings out red meat cravings in me. I also haven't once made pork braised in apple cider this winter, or pot roast. I just don't feel like I can justify it, somehow. But St. Patrick's Day is in a few weeks, and I'm making the corned beef and cabbage no matter what! Sounds like you have a favorite beef stew recipe too. There's something so nurturing about it, isn't it? It's serious comfort food.

It really gave me a sympathy for dieters who can't help thinking about their next meal. I actually woke up feeling hungry this morning! I haven't had stomach-growling hunger pangs in months and months. Just a vague, nauseous bleh. So this is good!

Oh, that would hurt!! When we heard our little intruder going nuts, Mr. H.H. went up to the attic to reset the traps we'd had when there were squirrels. It was late at night and there's no real light up there except the flashlight, and I was sure he was going to set off a trap and hurt himself. I'm relieved he didn't. Rodents are no fun, but those traps are nothing to fiddle around with!

My sister's cat does something very similar. She has an old house and they get lots of mice, but the cat catches a lot of them. He loves to sort of tote the mouse around and show everybody, or put it down and play with it. He also likes to store the dead mice under their dishwasher. My sister an old dishwasher that has to be rolled over to the sink in order to work, and once, she came home from a trip, and when she went to move the dishwasher, there were 4 dead mice underneath! She says she still prefers that to being awakened by the cat carrying a mouse into her bedroom at 3 a.m., which has also happened. You have a grand weekend too, Gramma!

...maybe mouse growth hormone or something. I didn't actually see said mouse, as Mr. H.H. took care of him, but he described him as a "cute little guy," much like the one in your picture. For a cute little guy, he sure managed to make a ruckus. At the very least, he filled me with impending doom about how another flying squirrel invasion had begun, how I'd never sleep again without earplugs, etc. Given what a stress the whole thing was the last time, I suppose it's not surprising that I feared the worst. But it is kind of funny in retrospect. You have a great weekend too, Sil!

I'm just counting my calories and getting more exercise. I'm eating about 1400 calories a day, with lots of fruit and veggies in there, and getting 45 minutes of cardio exercise daily. Back when I started this diet I could eat more and exercise less and still lose the weight, but sadly my body has started to catch up with me.
