I think Bilbo looks like Pippin too but my friend who is madly in love with Pippin fights with me always when I say they do look alike.

Seems that way. It's generally a given that Mirkwood will be toward the end of the first granted different spoilers and scenes, but as for Laketown, it seems as though it will be saved. So the film will likely end sometime between the Dwarven captivity and the barrel riding.

Don't know why but it keeps looking brown to me. Maybe it's something to do with the RED cameras but does anyone else notice that?

Probably my favorite to date. I did notice Bilbo was wearing shoes in a shot near the beginning of the vlog.

Bilbo's Fingerless Gloves and Other Sundry Observations
[In reply to]

2:28- Bilbo’s costume here is really interesting. It looks like he’s started borrowing things from the Dwarves to wear--those fingerless gloves for instance look very Ori. I love the notion of the Dwarves sharing their things with him (like I believe Dori shared a spare cloak with Bilbo in the book?) as they get more chummy. 4:14- As some have already mentioned, there’s an image of Smaug on the backs of those hoodies! While I don’t think this is really a look at the actual film design of the Dragon, I do take it as a good sign that the dragon looks very serpent-like and sinuous here :D 5:48- The sky here would look so perfect glowering over the Battle of Five Armies . . . 6:15- Had to replay the skipping Dwarves a few times. Just because. 6:20- “Christ, it’s on video!” Haha, I love the sense of fun this video exudes. 10:11- Is that Thorin carrying Orcrist and an axe?? 10:19- Dwalin’s just too cool. 10:43- I have an irrational amount of love for this bit of the vid, where Jed Brophy is seated in the car casually driving down the highway . . . It’d be hilarious to see the car drive by. “Oh, look, there goes a Dwarf. Or a starfish. Not sure which.” ;) 10:54- All I can say about the barrel stuff is I can’t WAIT to see the special features footage of this on the dvd/Blu-ray because it looks absolutely hysterical. And a lot of fun. Also it’s interesting to see how the costumes have degenerated at this point from how elaborate they are at Bag End; equally interesting is how Bofur has apparently managed to hang onto his hat all this time. 11:35- Fili and Kili are alarmed by something? 11:50- Nice to know PJ has his priorities straight XD Also, I can’t quite remember where it was in the video but that moment where Richard Armitage tosses back his mane of hair and then the pony he’s on tosses back its mane seconds later was hilarious. I appreciated all the Ori/Adam Brown bits in this a lot, as I can already tell he’s going to be one of my favorite Dwarves. And all the Warg movie titles . . . That needs to be a meme now, just insert a Warg in anything and you instantly make it 10x better XD

Your sky will change from day to day, and even from morning to night on the same day. So the same scene will be sunny, cloudy, sunny and cloudy again and the shadows will vary throughout the scene. Using editing to keep the sky the same throughout a specific scene is normal in all films that are shot outside of a studio.

Thanks to film lighting and digital grading, fabrics often show up as a different color on the big screen. Of course, there's always the chance that your computer monitor needs to be adjusted too

The two top parts look like candle holders to me. You can see the wax dripping down in the side shot. My guess is they will track it and use CGI flames for safety/green screen purposes...but I could be wrong. Very cool looking.
"There is a long road yet," said Gandalf. "But it is the last road," said Bilbo.

The buildings of Lake-town are interesting. Their walls are very evocative of dragon scales. Also, the dragon design on the back of their "halfway hoodies" is very reminiscent of John Howe's illustration of Smaug - with the back spines and the long snout.
