No I didn't, and the Police were right in closing the auditions early. This building is very small and situated right beside a busy motorway,

1200.......thousands more! LOL
"I would draw some of the great tales in fullness, and leave many only placed in the scheme, and sketched. The cycles should be linked to a majestic whole, and yet leave scope for other minds and hands, wielding paint and music and drama" ___________ Let us then continue Tolkien's Legendarium!

As a hopeful elf I arrived at 15 past midday and waited two and a half hours then sent home about 15 minutes from the hall. javascript:%20addTag(':(') I have attached a still from a short movie I took at 12:30 pm. when the queue has wound itself around this little dell. The second photo (next post) shows things only half an hour later when the queue had formed a triple spiral and people were still coming. Will put my details on trade-me tomorrow and hope with everyone else.

Arrived two hours early and about 200 people were before me, but I was still in the upper parking lot. Stood in the sunshine with kindred spirits and happily talked Tolkien until we were given applications to fill out and the line started moving. We were politely invited in, height measured, photographed, thanked for coming and finished by 1.30. It was a very pleasant experience, and I'm so glad I went (would have always wondered and kicked myself if I hadn't) even if that's all I ever get to do (but of course I'm hoping for a "woman, character face, reasonably long hair' call). Sorry it wasn't the same for everyone. Good luck with the online application, Scot Down Under. I didn't know you could do that. Fingers crossed for us both!

If I had gone, I would have worn my prosthetic elf ears. But personally, I'm rooting for that Swedish girl - good luck, whoever you are!

What an insane day! Even for those who didn't get snapped and measured... how exciting was this!? Stand and queue and stand and wait... awesome! Looks like it was an absolutely beautiful day for it!
I really need these new films to take me back to, and not re-introduce me to, that magical world.
