It was [In reply to] Can't Post

in the first two FotR trailers...there were two versions of the narration as well, I believe.

My Top 5 Wish List for "The Hobbit"
5. Legolas will surf down Smaug's neck
4. Bilbo will be revealed to a Robot
3. Naked PJ cameo as Ghan-Buri-Ghan
2. Use not only 3D, but smell-o-vision, with axes coming out of the seats and poking the audience when appropriate
1. Not only keep the claim that Thorin & Co. ran amok in Mirkwood "molesting people", but depict said incident in vivid detail!!!!!

There were several versions... [In reply to] Can't Post

something like;

''In the lands of Middle Earth legend tells of the Dark Lord Sauron and a ring that would give him the power to enslave the world''

''In the lands of Middle Earth legend tells of a ring, created by an ancient evil (which gave its wearer the power to enslave the world)''

Anyhow, I knew them already but I LOVE these lines and the way Ian pronounces them.

''Do not fear the shadows, for seeing them means light is near...''

I wonder if they came from an early version of the prologue [In reply to] Can't Post

Afterall, PJ confirmed on his DVD commentary that they considered having Frodo and then Gandalf narrate the prologue (or the Shadow out of the Past scene, because at one point they abandoned the prologue altogether) before settling on Galadriel.

I'd like to listen to it [In reply to] Can't Post

but I couldn't get past the accompanying music Unsure. As one of the posters there said, "one does not simply remix into Mordor" Laugh.

Trailers [In reply to] Can't Post

Yes, it's from the Fellowship of the Ring teaser trailer, which was the second teaser trailer to be released in theaters. (The first was a trilogy teaser trailer, which came after the famous "internet sneak preview" that was downloaded by millions of fans.)

By the way, the bonus features for the The Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition include a previs version of Frodo narrating the prologue. (Craig Parker plays Frodo.)
