Flight of the Conchords - Season 1 on DVD November 6th Can't Post

Good news for US fans who don't have HBO - the first season of 'Flight of the Conchords' will be out on dvd November 6th; I think you can pre-order it already from Amazon. Yay!

Pre-ordered already! [In reply to] Can't Post

It was great to see the guys every week, although it was a little strange. Looking forward to next season. I read in an interview that Brett and Jemaine are going back to Wellington to write instead of staying in NY. Although that's not surprising, since spring is coming to the Southern Hemisphere. Much better to be writing at home during the summer than trying to do it away from home during the winter!

I also read there will be fewer episodes next season - Jemaine I think said it was tough keeping the ideas fresh with so many episodes.

It's on our wish list [In reply to] Can't Post

We really enjoyed the first season. When BG gets homesick, it really helps to watch those two crazy Kiwis. It's great to see them 'perform' some of their existing material too. We're looking forward to seeing what they come up with for the next season.

Hooray - I've been waiting to see this show! [In reply to] Can't Post

Always really enjoyed seeing the guys live at the Edinburgh Festival - hilarious shows! And I missed their shows on BBC radio, so I've been wanting to see this tv show. Must order it - thanks for the news, deej! (Or should that be 'TORn staffer deej'?!) Wink

Is BG [In reply to] Can't Post

watching the Rugby World Cup? The US has a team in the pool matches so it's possible that one of the TV stations is carrying at least highlights of the tournament.

Listening for sure [In reply to] Can't Post

It was a radio series - not a lot of visuals! I should have said CD.

Gotta love the Internet [In reply to] Can't Post

Yes! For only $50 U.S. he found a package where he can watch the highlights of each game, then watch the entire game 24 hours after it's played. Since it's being played in France, usually early in the a.m. here in the U.S., he can watch the All Blacks first thing the morning after they play. I think that's partly why he's going through a bout of homesickness - he goes into work and no one even knows the world cup is being played, no less talking about it. Frown

Seeing as the next on is in NZ, we're tentatively planning a trip around it! Smile

I'll be saving some money [In reply to] Can't Post

to go to at least the pool matches for the NZ tournament, and maybe the final if I have a bout of financial madness. ;) It would be great to catch up during the tournament!

New Plymouth is angling to be the base for one of the minor teams - possibly Canada or the US, if we can swing it - as well as hosting some of the smaller pool matches in the local stadium.

I just hope no one expects the weather in NZ's spring to be as stunning as it is in France's autumn!
