Many EXCLUSIVE Hobbit set picures posted from NZ on homepage (SPOILER Alert)

The spy network, not known to those not around these parts pre-LOTR, has delivered the goods. Somebody out there in fandom land found this set and photographed it like crazy and sent it to TheOneRing.net. TORn staffer Demonsthenes has produced a SPOILER FILLED gallery and added his own commentary / speculation. It is on the homepage right here. Definitely worth a discussion and a look, if you don't mind being spoiled.

Noooo! I've got to go to work now! Very nice, I'm sure somebody will get into trouble over these. Isn't that proof of trespassing? Yikes! I'd bet these won't be up for long. Better start grabbing them now.

I still vote for Beorn, because of the scale, and because it looks Mannish. Also, I'd somehow expect Radagast's house to be more... special, I guess? Just a hint of wackiness? From what info we've got I gather he's supposed to be lightly oddball character, and PJ wouldn't miss a chance to give him an oddball house, right? Besides, do we even know we're going to see Rhosgobel?

I cannot see the photos? I just see a black box! I had some issues in Chrome, but others were able to see them ine in Chrome. I have no problems with Firefox and Safari seems ok as well. Have sent message to Calisuri to have a look at it though -- i'm not a wordpress expert...

I'm completely befuddled. I can't seem to determine whether this is Beorn's house or Radagast's. However, I'm thinking both structures are simply too small to accommodate 13 dwarves, 1 hobbit, and 1 wizard. SO it must be Radagast's house.

If the house is under the mountains in a glade, then it must be Beorn's house because it is under the Misty Mountains. Also...why do people keep thinking Radagast's home? We don't even know if it will be shown in the movie! It is very very very very unlikely it is Radagast's home and not Beorn's.

only because of the bird motif on the wall, seems like a Radagast/St.Francis of Assisi, thing to have on the wall.

I'm afraid of scary birds, and that one has an abnormally large head/beak. Anyway, if it's Radagast's house, I hope the walls around the bird holes have some bird poop on them... you know, to make it look authentic

Beorn is rather fond of animals as well, so a bird motif would not be out of place for him. I would wager a lot of money that this is Beorn's pad. I am officially geeking out a bit. -GM

I think if we even see Radagasts home it would be much smaller and simpler.

Although, as others have said, we've no real reason to be confident that Rhosgobel will even appear in the film, for me the bird-motif, the bird-holes in the gables and the grass on the roof all point to Radagast's abode rather than Beorn's. It's also much too delicate and refined. I would expect Beorn's home to be much more robust and Saxon / Nordic in character, with a thatched roof and a grand hall that would match Tolkien's illustration.

because 1. These pictures provide new angles and it doesn't look long enough to be Beorn's 2. Those cuby-holes look like they're definitely for birds 3. All the moss on the roof looks like something Radagast would have, not Beorn 4. Tall instead of long. Yes, Beorn would need it tall to fit himself, but Radagast might also want it tall for the birds 5. These pictures show that the house is definitely among the trees (as opposed to a couple of trees around the house)

Upon reading the accompanying article I realize that there seem to be two different buildings photographed. But they look so similar that they must go together...

I know it seems small but they probably wouldn't build the entire thing for the shoot....they may only need a portion at full scale and the rest will be CGI.

Brilliant! Well done Ringer Glow for amazing spy work! More please! A couple of thoughts: I think this is too grand a range of structures to be Radagast's home. Looks to me more like the 'cluster of low wooden buildings' (still under construction!) which Tolkien tells us Beorn has - plus in the 20th picture there's a big tree trunk on the ground, which could be the 'great oak-trunk with many lopped branches beside it' which is lying in Beorn's courtyard. Also, the rough hewn wood work seen in one of the pics suggest the 'unshaped logs' which make up some of the buildings, and the grass on the roof may be the way the film makers have chosen to represent the thatching Tolkien tells us is on some of Beorn's buildings. The gate is said to be 'high and broad' and 'heavy creaking', so I don't think the gate we see in these pics is too big to be Beorn's. Also I have my doubts that Radagast's home would be shown; I just feel that PJ et al will keep the 'nomadic' feel of wizards which we have with Gandalf. Finally, I think the 'small windows' in the gable are actually dovecots. Which would tie in nicely with the pictures of birds around them. Not that there's any mention of Beorn keeping doves - they just look like dovecots to me.
