Ryan Gage Tweets About Hobbit "Costume Fitting"

Of late there seems to be no let up to the slew of Hobbit-related news... and we're not complaining. Dwarf revelations aside, today brings a very interesting tweet by Ryan Gage, cast originally in the role of Drogo Baggins, the father of Frodo Baggins (played, of course, by Elijah Wood).
Had a costume fitting today and met Elijah Wood for the first time. What a really nice guy! Early this May, Peter Jackson announced via Facebook that Ryan Gage would be playing the Master of Laketown's conniving civil servant, Alfrid. Thanks to TORn spy Patrick A. for the tip.

But the real question for me is who'll be directing Saruman's scenes.

I'm just glad they are getting christopher lee filmed. I'm so happy he's gonna be able to do it! IMO no one else can do Saruman justice.

I love the idea of a mini shoot in England. It's great that they are going to get Christopher Lee's in these movies. Let's hope they can shoot decent material and not just a cameo material...

Christopher Lee is so amazing and I am thoroughly happy he is returning to middle-earth. I do hope he has substancial scenes in the Hobbit. It will be fun to see Saruman before he was totally corrupted.

I thought there was something a bit odd about the way he said it.

that it really is Ryan Gage and not a faker who's tweeting like Ryan Gage, because: A) He has no verified account B) He has only 157 followers, not very much for an actor C) I haven't read from a second source that can confirm that Ryan Gage and Elijah Wood are both in the UK

Elijah Wood said he wouldn't be in the UK until October.

I'm so glad that Sir Chris is able to do his scenes for the film, he looked pretty good the last I saw him in some videos from April or May. The one thing I hope though, is that they do his scenes proper. I don't want to hear that he had to do everything alone, in front of a green-screen with no actors to work off of, such as McKellen. It would be a shame for them to not build some sets like Orthanc for him at least, or wherever Saruman was staying at the time.

The possibilty of Andy directing Chris Lee. Wonderful! That Peter would have such faith in him to direct a non-action peice, really sink his teeth into something substantial, that would be fantastic. Esp Saruman. Of course this is all speculation, but if it is true, it would be a huge boost for Andy. Maybe someday he can become a director in his own right. He won't be of an age to hop around in a gimp suit forever. And if Lee is being filmed very soon--then all I can say is, like San, "O great glory and splendor, all my wishes have come true!" Well,..if he is filmed and lives to see his perormance...then I may say that.
