Orlando Bloom In The Hobbit: A Done Deal? Can't Post

The BBC America Blog has an interesting interview with Orlando Bloom where his words seem to imply he's going to be a part of The Hobbit (as, of course, the Elf Legolas).

Here's one of the statements he makes:
I can’t really discuss it too much at this point, but I’m very excited at the prospect of being a part of it again. I think it will be wonderful to get back there.

Read the rest of the interview for Orlando's thoughts on Peter Jackson as a director, and the themes of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.

What do you think? Is Orlando Bloom pretty much going to be in these movies at this point? Follow the "Discuss" link to share your thoughts with fellow fans on our message boards.

Nothing new. [In reply to] Can't Post

He is excited and can't speak about TH much at this point. He said the same recently.

He is also signed for another movies and he will be a major character in both of them so his role in TH perhaps won't be too big. Just speculating...

With all due respect to TheOneRing.Net [In reply to] Can't Post

These constant Orlando Bloom articles are driving me insane. All he ever talks about is how he can't say anything and how excited he is at the prospect at going back - over and over and over and over again. It's never anything new.

Can we hold off on the Bloom articles until we have 100% confirmation of his involvement? Please Unsure?

Wait, Orlando Bloom might be back?! [In reply to] Can't Post

When did this happen?!?!??! Shocked

Also, who did he play again? I think it was Rossie Cotton, right?

I would rather be watching Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" and Ridley Scott's "Prometheus"...it's going to be a long few years.

I think we've considered it certain for a while now... [In reply to] Can't Post

Since the last report we've read about Bloom, his involvement seems to be a sure thing. I think there are probably just some "i"s to dot and "t"s to cross in his contract before an official announcement can be made.

It's the job of TORn to post Tolkien/Hobbit/LOTR (and Hobbit/LOTR actor) related news [In reply to] Can't Post

As this is a new interview, they posted it up.

Information is going to become redundant here and there. Take a break from the website if you are annoyed with it. Wink

More likely he's asked about TH every time he's interviewed, and gives as truthful a response as possible. Then, we hear about his latest statement here.

From doing research on LOTR news [In reply to] Can't Post

I think it's important to see where news got posted even when it's mostly redundant. I'm glad that TORn posted 'it all' and let me decide what was important.

Remember... this is not just news for a moment. It's history.

Very true [In reply to] Can't Post

The funny thing is Goonies would round it off at 10. Elves and Hobbits. I guess I played too much D&D as a youngster.

If anything, I haven't played enough D&D. Now I must go and beg my older brother for all of his D&D books... if he still has them!

For the record... [In reply to] Can't Post

... just as it isn't fun reading the same non-news over and over again, it's not much fun posting it either, but one of TORn's functions is to report on all movie-related news even if its content isn't always earth-shattering.

TORn's board members are probably among the most well-informed fans you can find, so it's understandable that people like you (and me!) look at such interviews and roll our eyes. But not everyone out there is up-to-date on everything that's happening with these films, and there's always someone who reads such articles and goes... "Really?" If you look at the comments on TORn's Facebook page, you'll notice that for many people out there, stuff like this, that board members have been discussing for ages, is actually brand new news!

Also, it's not just about the news per se. It's also about reading what the actors have to say in general about LOTR, The Hobbit, and the people who worked, and are working, on these films. Those portions are every bit as interesting as a statement of casting confirmation.

Hobbit a done deal for Orlando?... [In reply to] Can't Post

I do not know how many links and reports have been posted on this forum regarding the return of Orli, all the links including this seem to playing it safe, taking care to avoid the yes and no words.

At least Orlando has not been idle Merci! is he in the Three Musketeers? Whoo hoo. All the other projects he has going for him as well as been a father. Now, how is all this going to fit into his Contract if he has already been approached by The Hobbit team?
