Below is the statement just released by Sir Richard Taylor and Tania Rodger over at wetanz.com:
On behalf of all our friends and colleagues at Weta Workshop, we send our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of the people from around New Zealand and the world who have sent us their messages of support. Everyone here has tried to stay optimistic for a positive outcome but in the darkest days of the past week it has been the amazing support from the fans of LOTR and our family and friends which has given us the resolve to stay cheerful and positive about the outcome for these films. It is a fantastic result reported tonight by our Prime Minister, the Honourable John Key, and we are grateful for the support of our Government in recognising the challenges our film industry was facing. We are also very pleased that Warner Bros are happy to continue to see these films made in New Zealand – and thank them for their efforts. Most importantly our thanks go out to Peter, Fran and Philippa, for their unrelenting efforts to see these films made in our country. We are very lucky to work with such passionate film makers. All our best and cheers to you all. Richard Taylor and Tania Rodger I might add we're lucky to have such passionate people as our friends at WETA working on these beloved stories too. Our very best wishes are with you as you embark on your journey into Middle-earth once again!

You both kept your calm and your quality during very trying times, and everyone at Weta deserves this outcome. :)
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded b*****d with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. YOUR effort in this, your prayers, all of you at Weta and Weta Digital... your belief in Peter and NZ has been staggering and glorious! I'm afraid that through all of these years, ya'll are one in my mind with Peter's film company. It's always been that way and always will be. You're brothers and sisters of honour and generous souls... to all of us. Thank you for never wavering during this ridiculous threat and doing so much to save The Hobbit and NZ's film industry. YOU did it! Peter, Fran, Philippa, the Techs... All of you in NZ did it! Thank you... thank you....
I really need these new films to take me back to, and not re-introduce me to, that magical world.

For your wonderful, wonderful work, and your efforts in keeping the films in NZ. I'm getting no sleep tonight, but it does not matter... it's such a wonderful day.

You all worked so hard to keep the Hobbit in New Zealand, and I am so very happy that you got your happy end. No one deserves it more than the people in New Zealand. And I sincerely hope that was the last obstacle on the way to make these movies and from now on you can work in peace!

Thank you back, Sir Richard and Sir Peter! This is a major victory in the making of these films. I'm so glad all the drama is over. I know it is something you folks never wanted, and now you can get on with what you've always wanted--to make the best films possible.
