As soon as I have a safe vehicle again (clutch is gone on mine but I haven't the $1100 it will take to replace it) and a few spongelinks to rub together (my older sister didn't invent the term "spongelinks" for money, but she did use it a lot, her being fond of obscure things from sources she'd read as she was a voracious reader all her life). I was always amused after I finally found out that Abigail Van Buren and Ann Landers weren't the same woman writing under different noms de plume as I'd thought but twins. Thank you! I especially adore trees and planted them with Anne at the two places we owned when we were together! I'll even plant one for our marriage and my 1st marriage the next place I end up. What a GRAND idea! I've seen the Memorial there and the one in Lyons, CO at the park there. Off the top of my head I'd say Labour Day weekend? I lose my job Aug 31st and planned on taking a short 'vacation' to Vancouver, WA to see my mom at HER place for the 1st time in a dozen years now so on the trip back that would be a good thing.

This way was MUCH more funner! You would not be as dear to me as you are if you spelt everything correctly each and every time. Trick is to ENJOY your mistakes instead of being ashamed of them. Be accountable, yes, but there is not one person who hasn't made lots of mistakes (theology aside). One of the brightest spots of my life was my Mommy taught me how to laugh at myself along WITH everyone else. MOST of the time!

I sure hope that when the time comes for me to find a "real" job, I'll find something I love but that will be a while I still have to finish college, then go to grad school... yeah, luckily I like school

We're off to South Texas to celebrate my mother's 85th birthday. It's officially today, but we're having a big semi-surprise party tomorrow. It's semi-surprise, because she kinows we're all coming for her birthday, but she doesn't know about the party. It will be an open house type of thing and I've invited about 75 people to drop by and eat some birthday cake with her. We did the same thing for her 75 th, and a smaller version for her 80th. We're very blessed that my mom is in great physical and mental health. On her 80th birthday, after not realizing all these people dropping by were for her *birthday party*, she joked that the first sign of old age is not knowing what's going on around you. So her sense of humor is fully functional as well. Have a safe and happy Memorial Day, everyone!
And suddenly the Ainur saw afar off a light, as it were a cloud with a living heart of flame.

to bloom? I planted mine two springs ago - the first year i was a sad little stick I watered faithfully. Last spring I was rewarded with actual leaves of green! This year I foolishly hope for a blossom! They do look precarioulsy perched on such spindly stalks! Like bumblebees - they seem areodynamically/structurally unlikely!

doesn't bloom until later in the year and it didn't start blooming until just a few years ago, though I don't remember how long we've had it for the peonies on campus bloom REALLY early though but I don't know if it's because campus is a bit farther south than my home, or because it might be an older plant

That was my favorite line from the old Batman TV show. Catwoman had tied up Batman and Robin under two big magnifying glasses and was going to cook them (they were saved by a handy eclipse.) Catwoman's response was "I didn't know you could yodel.'" :-D Yep, oleo was short for oleomargarine. We always called it "Oley" in my house growing up. Pass the Oley, please.
