after the most incredible movie experience ever [In reply to] Can't Post

(hint: I was not in Kansas anymore), I have one question only: will this revolutionary WETA technology be used in The Hobbit? Wow. Just wow. The blend of exceptional film-making and groundbreaking experience (yes, it`s not just SFX, it`s EXPERIENCE) is the only way to go with the Hobbit. No, seriously, don`t let this be one-off thing. Please, please, make The Hobbit the Pandora way. Please, please, please!

OMG, guys, you have NO idea! Wow,just wow! Thank you Cameron. Thank you Richard Taylor. Now, can we get the Hobbit like this?

Nothing like the straight skinny (the real information) straight from the horse's (in this case the Bull's) mouth (er Puter). Have a great holiday AND TAKE A LITTLE TIME OFF.
Looking forward to 2010, a great year in fantasy.

What a perfect way to start the weekend! Thanks so much Guillermo!!! [In reply to] Can't Post

It was very kind of you to take the time to post an update for us! And what an excellent update it was! I must admit I was a little concerned when Andy wasn't included in the list of returning actors. Glad to hear he should still be Gollum! Smile

This post from you just instantly brightened up my whole weekend! Thanks again and I hope you have an excellent holiday!

Close the door, put out the light.
You know they won't be home tonight.
The snow falls hard and don't you know?
The winds of Thor are blowing cold.
They're wearing steel that's bright and true
They carry news that must get through.

They choose the path where no-one goes.

They hold no quarter.

another THANKS ! [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks Sr. Guillermo, thanks for your time, Its just lovely to see how you manage to give us updates from time to time with the amount of work you`ve been up to.
I saw El Laberinto del Fauno again the other day on bluray (checking my new giant lcd 1080dpi, If I may be a little fancy here heheBlush ) I was stunned about all the imagery, the beautiful yet dark world surrounding the story(being also dark times), sometimes very cold, some times so warm you can`t help wanting to be there. Then I wondered ...Would your "tocayo" Guillermo Navarro still on track with The Hobbit project ??? I think he does, I really hope so...and I`m sure it would be wonderful... I can`t imagine your images without his paintbrushes.

thanks again Sr.!

Well Mr. G it is a delight to see you appear [In reply to] Can't Post

as a wizard, for you are never late and expecting you when we see you is a goodly thing.

No red lights is a very good thing in itself and WB is tickled pink. Now there is a feather in all your caps:).

And i know, come hot jello or high water you all will be undeterred and will 'keep on a comin' .

All the best to you, your cohorts and to your family this holiday season.

Love, from me and mine

''Sam put his ragged orc-cloak under his master's head, and covered them both with the grey robe of Lorien; and as he did so his thoughts went out to that fair land, and to the Elves, and he hoped that the cloth woven by their hands might have some virtue to keep them hidden beyond all hope in this wilderness of fear...But their luck held, and for the rest of that day they met no living or moving thing; and when night fell they vanished into the darkess of Mordor.'' - - -rotk, chapter III

May the grace of Manwë let us soar with eagle's wings!

In the air, among the clouds in the sky
Here is where the birds of Manwe fly
Looking at the land, and the water that flows
The true beauty of earth shows
With the stars of Varda lighting my way
In all the realms this is where I stay
In the realm of Manwë Súlimo

Guillermo, YOU ARE THE MAN!! [In reply to] Can't Post

This is tremendously exciting news. I had heard that you posted to this site occassionally but this is the first I have actually read one of your posts myself (being a newish member). I am thrilled to hear how the Hobbit is TRULLY coming along. We can scour the internet all we want but the buck stops here when it comes to the real deal. I have to say, probably the most exciting little bit I pulled out of your post was the "doing final selections on Dwarven War Artifacts and Gear" nugget you dropped. The Dwarves are BY FAR my favorite race of Tolkien's Middle Earth and I cannot wait to see how you and your chosen actors, develop PJ's vision of Gimili into many Dwarves and how they look, sound and interact with one another.

Not to mention.....does anyone else just think it is totally sweet that we will finally get to see "A Legion of Dwarves, fully armed, and filthy!" summoned to Woop some serious Goblin Butt!

Whoo RA! for Dain and his Boyz!

Thank you so very much GDT!

"Stout men and lordly they are, and the Riders of Rohan look almost as boys beside them; for they are grim men of face, worn like weathered rocks for the most part, even as Aragorn himself; and they are silent."

generousity in stopping by to give us some solid, reliable glimpses
into what is happening with the 'Hobbit' project. The news you've

and slowly let it out with peace of mind. All is in control. All is well.
Most Appreciated!

All good news! [In reply to] Can't Post

Just joining in the chorus of thanks and excitement. It's great to get hints of what you and the rest of the Hobbit crew are up to. I'm especially looking forward to seeing what you have done with Smaug.

I still prefer to keep the dialogue open- inexact as it may get- that to remain mum or one-sided with the community that can really understand this project.

Yes, please do! The discussion and speculation is all part of the fun. Cool

"Of all faces those of our familiares are the ones both most difficult to play fantastic tricks with, and most difficult really to see with fresh attention. They have become like the things which once attracted us by their glitter, or their colour, or their shape, and we laid hands on them, and then locked them in our hoard, acquired them, and acquiring ceased to look at them.
Creative fantasy, because it is mainly trying to do something else [make something new], may open your hoard and let all the locked things fly away like cage-birds. The gems all turn into flowers or flames, and you will be warned that all you had (or knew) was dangerous and potent, not really effectively chained, free and wild; no more yours than they were you."
