Just watch yourself what he said about the script: One thing he said was:"A lot of the old characters back". So does this mean more of the old cast will return than we expect to return?

Thanks for this Theodred Its a wonderful short and funny interview - Sir Ian is such a great guest, and seems to know how to say something when he cant say a thing ... _________________________________________________________________________________________ Ian McKellen talks Hobbit script on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon http://www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com/video/clips/sir-ian-mckellen-interview-11509/1173182/ Jimmy Fallon: I heard there’s a big rumour on the internet that I wanted to talk to you about – that they’re making the Hobbit, and there’s rumours that you’ve received the script, you’ve read it and you could tell us a little something about it maybe? Sir Ian: I’d love to tell you something about it – the novel was written about 60 years ago (audience laughs) – the script based on the novel arrived to me in London by courier, which is an awful long way away. And it said on the outside I could not talk about it to any college, any friend any pet, any chats how host (Jimmy laughs) its absolutely out the question. I couldn’t write on the script, I couldn’t take it out of its plastic cover, every single page was encrypted so if a piece of it turned up on the internet they would know where it came from, and it would be collected in 12 hours by a courier who would shred it under supervision. So that script doesn’t exsist anymore, so what can I tell you ... Jimmy Fallon: (audience laughing) So how does it end? (laughing) Sir Ian: Reasonably happy ... No, its a fantastic script, and we’re going to get going with it in the Spring in New Zealand, and a lot of the old characters are back ... Jimmy Fallon: ... a great Director ... Sir Ian: Yes. Guillermo del Toro who did ‘Pans Labyrinth’ and Peter Jackson who did ‘The Lord of the Rings’, he did the script with Guillermo .. Jimmy Fallon: Wow – that’s going to be something. Cheers Elven Transcript by Elven for the Onering.net

But that's now! Or a year from now. Did Sir Ian get his seasons turned around and he's thinking of NZ's autumn?
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded b*****d with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. This is one thing thats come up a few times - the seasonal timings - always makes me confused. I thought that too when doing the transcript - Spring in NZ? NOOOOO!!! I think he meant March April as he has said before. I hope thats right. Cheers Elven x

Okay... Thank you for the transcript, Elven :) I set my VCR to tape the show, but snagged the wrong channel. Typical. Then I watched the clip you've given, and all I could see was Gandalf sitting there! He looks FABULOUS!!! And his energy is right there! Soon... very soon... but not soon enough ;) Thanks again!

Theodreds clip, (thanks Theoden) I just did a transcription - I miss having the time to do them - and I couldnt resist - the flashback was a classic on the interview. ... and when Sir Ian said he shredded it - well, ya know, I think its like all that 'shredded footage' from LOTR ... some how I think that there was intructions on the front of that cover too - 'what ever you do - tell them you shredded it!!' LOL!! Im glad you recovered grams Cheers Elven x

lets take the advice from good ol Oswald Cobblepots: But a little patience - and a LOT of tape - make all the difference now if someone could just find that shredded script.....
