I have to admit: 'BSG' has replaced 'Lost' as my favorite show. It is such a good show that I can't believe it hasn't been cancelled yet! It was just renewed for a 4th season, and in my opinion is getting better with every season. My favorite character? Baltar. Poor crazy, meglomanical, Cylon-loving Baltar. Is anyone else here a fan, or will I be the only one posting in this thread?

My wife (FPB) and I love it. It's one of the shows we agree never to see without the other.

The only poster in this thread. I'd be surpised if we don't eventually see shuya, Lilia, and Wolfy posting in this thread. I flip flop between Karl 'Helo' Agathon and Chief Galen Tyrol as my favorite characters and have no love at all for Starbuck. I hate to admit it, but Gaius Baltar is another favorite of mine and we've seen way too little of him as of late. Will post more later as I'm overwhelmed by the current posts in need of responsed by me in the Off-topic portion of this MB.

I really like Apollo but wasn't too crazy about the whole adultery story line. I'm glad that's behind us (for now?). I was pretty sure Dee was going to bite it in the last ep just to make him a free agent again. Glad they didn't take the easy way out. I also like the Cheif (and Calli), and Helo (my hubby's favorite), but also Roslin and the Admiral. I'm not as fond of Baltar. Worst episode: Unfinished Business. Apollo and Starbuck boxing. Pul-eez. Favorite episode: Tough. I can't remember the name but it was the one where some Toasters boarded Galactica and were playing cat and mouse with Roslin and Apollo. Last night's episode: not bad but I thought there was a bit too much with the Admiral's ex. It started to feel like an off-broadway play. Nice story with the Chief and Calli but I found the previews for next week's episode to be a bizarre follow-up. So say we all.

It's funny, a couple of years ago the show I was really excited about was the new Doctor Who. That ended up disappointing me, and instead my family have all become devoted BSG fans. We didn't start watching till midway through the second season, so have recently been renting all the earlier shows to get caught up. The writers do a fantastic job of juggling all those characters and story lines. I can't pick a single favorite character, but I do love Baltar as comic relief. So, any guesses about who'll turn out to be a Cylon?

and I'm sure other TORnsibs are who haven't responded yet (like EtM, for example). I still haven't watched the latest episode, because I always tape it to watch later. I'll probably watch it tonight. I didn't start watching the series until about two-thirds of the way through the first season, so I've been renting the first season from Netflix to catch up; I've seen the miniseries and the first two discs of the regular season. Disc 3 arrives tomorrow--what a treat to see the early days of the series! The commentary by the executive producers is the best commentary I've ever heard on any DVD! They talk non-stop and give tons and tons of background about their philosophy and how the show and the episodes were developed. My favorite character is a toss-up between Sharon (in her various guises) and Starbuck. I also like Six and Laura. One of the things I love best about this show is all the strong but complex female characters. I already liked Katee from the short-lived drama series "The Education of Max Bickford," in which she played Richard Dreyfuss's rebellious teenage daughter. But the acting in this series is uniformly excellent; I can't think of anyone I don't think does a good or great job with a recurring role (though I think both Tigh and Gaius qualify as characters I love to hate!).

I was writing my post at the same time you were writing yours, putting in a big plug for the commentaries on the first-season DVDs.

The only poster in this thread. I'd be surpised if we don't eventually see shuya, Lilia, and Wolfy posting in this thread. Of course I'm going to be here! I'm still kind of proud of myself for finding this one first! I think the Chief is my favorite character. I still have a crazy love for Starbuck, even though sometimes she is a raging witch and she really messed with Apollo's head. I must admit that even though I still love the show, I am a little disappointed with the direction the Cylons went in - I liked them better when they were scary - now they often seem like squabbling teenagers. Anyway, this is probably my favorite show on television right now, and I was relieve to hear that it was renewed for a fourth season (although I keep reading 13 episodes, which is really only half a season.

to see the shows themselves. Maybe we'll re-rent or buy someday for the commentaries. But I will second you on the "uniformly excellent" acting. That's why I was worried whether the series would be renewed -- a cast like that must have a high price tag.

Id caught the pilot a few months ago but this weekend I found the 1st series on DVD really cheap - just the shows - no commentary. I've seen the first 4 episodes and so far Im liking it.

I watched the mini-series when it first came out and caught bits and pieces of season one, but I became a die-hard fan in season two when the Pegasus plot line started. I'm catching up on the earlier episodes that I missed now. My favorite character is tough. It seems to change every time we learn something new about someone. Probably Helo and Sharon right now, though Chief Tyroll will always have a special place in the geeky side of my heart. I am so glad to hear it has been renewed. I can't imagine what the writers would have to do if they decided to try and tie up some plot lines before it went away.

...for finally convincing me to watch this. :) I've got all the dvd's, but haven't had time yet to listen to the commentaries. One of these days i'll have to have a marathon. This past weeks episode wasn't one of my favorites, but I think i'm just getting excited about the trial. And finding out who 'The Final 5' are. My guess is one of them is someone we've seen before (perhaps a certain Lt. whose name rhymes with Baeta?), but the others will be unfamiliar faces.

I've liked the past 2 episodes, mainly due to them begin Tyrol- and Helo-centric. Bring on the trial, that should be great entertainment television.

It is such a good show that I can't believe it hasn't been cancelled yet! That made me laugh in a rather sour way. Firefly - sigh. Farscape - sigh. I've been avoiding renting this because I don't really need to get hooked on another TV series right now, and from what I hear, I will. But it will come.

Gaeta *cannot* be a Cylon!!!! He's probably my next-favorite character after the ones I listed. He just seems like the most completely decent person! I have not gotten even the tiniest Cylon vibe from him! Still, I'm sure the "final 5" will include some shockers.

One of my faves for sure. I think my favorite character is Sharon aka Athena. Though as many of you mentioned, this changes often.
