**TORN Tenth Anniversary post: Middle-earth Conspiracy Theories

Before they created TORN, what other websites were founded by Tehanu, Corvar, Calisuri and Xoanon that were wildly unsuccessful?
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded b*****d with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. www.tra-la-la-lally-DownInHappyValley.com ...was dead before it went 'live'. *whispers* And I don't think that was really Nittany Lion poo in that bag left burning outside his door...unless we're talking about the species that drinks beer and wears team shirts. ;)

****************************************** The audacious proposal stirred his heart. And the stirring became a song, and it mingled with the songs of Gil-galad and Celebrian, and with those of Feanor and Fingon. The song-weaving created a larger song, and then another, until suddenly it was as if a long forgotten memory woke and for one breathtaking moment the Music of the Ainur revealed itself in all glory. He opened his lips to sing and share this song. Then he realized that the others would not understand. Not even Mithrandir given his current state of mind. So he smiled and simply said "A diversion.”

"Fast Food Site of the Year" in 1997. Instead of Fiesta Fridays, they had weekly "Name That Antacid" threads. One Ring to fry in oil, One Ring to "bind" them. One Ring to upset them all And with the Maalox find them. I think the anthem went something like that...

A very useful website you could turn to if you had a power cut (aka power outage), to ensure minimum damage to your household electrical wiring system. All you needed to do was, as soon as the power cut happened, switch on your computer and ... Oh yeah, right -- I can see why it didn't really take off.........
