3 Hobbits...No thank you

I really hope the rumor is just that...a rumor. Some reason behind my opinion: It feels to me that they would do this because of one reason...money. Being a business person, I can understand this, but I just think that another trilogy is too long of a reach for the filmmakers to try and do. I see the filmmakers adding CGI instead of models and camera tricks to try and quicken the film making process. I can imagine these films as more action sequences than the needed dialogue and scenes from the book that fans crave. The care and detail will be compared to LOTR and inevitably not reach equal heights. Three films would seem forced and put-on. There is something to the saying "too much of a good thing." When I found out the The Hobbit was being produced I, like us all, was very pleased. I have total trust in GDT and will most likely love his interpretation of one of my favorite books (Third only to James and the Giant Peach and LOTR). May the best decision be made...

Xo posted to Facebook and I responded, then while looking at the post, I noticed one of the tags. Hmmm, I think I'm vaguely gullible at times.

With 11 people already voting in that poll (nice touch to add to the credibility of the joke), I was the only one to vote "Something smells fishy". Yes, it's April 1 in NZ & Australia, but it's still March 31 in just about the rest of the world. It is for me. Anyway, I knew better. Still, that's a clever one. Now I can laugh at all the suckers with y'all.
Things are going to get better!!!

Just for a second, I kind of wanted to see "young Saruman and Gandalf in Valinor"...

...they had me until about that point, and the bit about LOTR actors playing young wizards.. Actually, a lot of this fits with some of the bizarre things Viggo said in his inebriated Empire Icon speech...especially if you, too, are in a similar state... Good one, TORn!

Gandalf was to Saruman what Dumbledore was to Gellert Grindelwald? Or did muggles make young Gandalf sleep under the stairs and Saruman had red hair? This could get interesting.
****************************************** The audacious proposal stirred his heart. And the stirring became a song, and it mingled with the songs of Gil-galad and Celebrian, and with those of Feanor and Fingon. The song-weaving created a larger song, and then another, until suddenly it was as if a long forgotten memory woke and for one breathtaking moment the Music of the Ainur revealed itself in all glory. He opened his lips to sing and share this song. Then he realized that the others would not understand. Not even Mithrandir given his current state of mind. So he smiled and simply said "A diversion.”

... and good ol' TORn didn't disappoint But touche on wringing out the rumours into something that *could* be something credible, except of course for the Istari in their youth, that sure boggles the mind to even imagine
Crows and Gibbets! What is the House of Eorl but a thatched barn where brigands drink in the reek and their brats roll around on the floor with the dogs? You are but a lesser son of greater sires!

I could actually see Rowan Atkinson pulling off the role really well. Still, like you I assume its an April Fools.

joke! Especially the way it is put in the main site article! Gandalf and Saruman's youth? What youth? They're immortal beings, created before the World! Nice though

...see what, Gandalf?...A FAILED MOVIE!!!! Why do they have to make 3 movies?! I was fine with a 2nd, but three?! This is beginning to sound more and more like the Star Wars prequels. There are so many lessons to be taken from Lucas and those movies (say, cheese....). Stick with Tolkien's material and you are on solid footing.

Since when is there a Valinor Academy for divine beings? Valinor is not Hogwarts for Eru's sake! Something tells me that this news sounds like BS.
