This article caught my eye because of the sheep's name, but I think it's pretty cool in and of itself. Local team competes in spinning contest at state farm show It's a competition at the Pennsylvania Farm Show where teams have to shear a sheep, spin its wool, and weave a shawl -- all within a 2 1/2 hour time limit! They're judged on their work and the quality of the finished shawl.
With caffeine, all things are possible. The pity of Bilbo will screw up the fate of many.

are alive and well in Pennsylvania, though I was very disappointed when I heard that the Misty Mountain Fiber Workshop in Gettysburg was closing its doors. Can't spin my Middle-earth theme yarns from their stock now...though there is still Misty Mountain Farm in Virginia.... =)
