I feel like LOTR is a femine movie now

I mean everyone on here is basically a girl. I thought LOTR was for men? With all the fighting and stuff. It just makes me feel like I am on some Barbie forum talking with a bunch of women. Are there any males out there who like LOTR anymore? At least mostly males like Star Wars. Go Star Wars!!!!!

I am married to him. Also, I am a woman and I like Star Wars. Most of the time you can't tell from the conversations who is a man and who is a woman unless he or she wants you to.

I hope that's ok. Of course, since I'm a girl, I just skip all the fighting parts.

But stereotypes are lame. Even my 12 year old brother knows that girls can like things other than kissing books. He has been taught well. (Anyone who knows where the kissing book reference comes from is made of win :) ). BTW, I remember you stating you played LOTRO. Have you actually talked to many of the players? Plenty are women. So. Again. Stereotypes are pretty lame. If you'll excuse me, I have to go play with my Barbies now. Barbie and Ken are going on a date to a kissing movie.

Most of the people in LOTRO are women, most of the players in Star Wars Online are males (I play and am mostly around males all the time). And yes, a lot of women do like Star Wars, but almost everyone I know on the Starwars.com message boards and the World of Star Wars website forums are mostly male. And all my friends who like Star Wars are male. LOTR on the other hand, girls began to invade it when those boy band wannabes were in the movies *cough* Elijah Wood *cough*. And yes, I am stereotyping. If you don't like it, don't read it. Because I do stereotype. You can't control that. Maybe it is lame to you females, but to me, it's the way I live.

How many of the Rohirrim were portrayed by women? Mordor Orcs - a lot of femme stunties. Why, I think Shadofax (one of the horses at least) mighta been a girl, too.

Is that from the Princess Bride? When the Wonder Years kid groans to Columbo about the book they are about to read. Just for good measure:
**squeeeee!!!** I love Orli! So our young friend knows I'm a chick. Who also likes Star Wars since before he was born.
And suddenly the Ainur saw afar off a light, as it were a cloud with a living heart of flame.

I'm not one to sound macho very often but, 'scuse me ladies, a MAN here, well at least a young man. Stereotyping is incorrect. Not accurate. I believe you can control it if everyone learns the way things actually are in the world. You might want to step back and do some research. Don't assume things when you really no nothing about a subject. First hand experience is a priory. The woman on the site are all wonderful by the way. They didn't invade LOTR, some have been reading LOTR all their lives and are in their 50s or older. They and their male counterparts were here before me. What on earth makes Elijah Wood a wannabe boy band? You might want to know he owns an independent record label and the bands I've heard about that are featured on his lable are far from "boy bands". Also the films he's done since LOTR are like a trail mix bag, not "High School Musical". Is it because he has teen girl fans? How did he cause that? How are the actions of a, (I mean this in the most sincere way possible Elijah Fans) rabid fan base being caused by the person they admire? How is he responsible for that? How aren't Hayden Christiansen and Ewan Mcgreggor boy band wannabes? They have lots of rabid teen girl fans. I say this to you keeping in mind that I am also a huge Star Wars fan of the whole saga and that I like and respect all three guys as actors and as people as you can tell from my icon. Also, there are or at least were TONS of girls and woman on theforce.net when I used to post there between episodes 2 and 3.
When the seas and mountains fall and we come to end of days, in the dark I hear your call calling me there, i will go there and back again.

Far he journeyed in that ship, even into the starless voids; but most often was he seen at morning or at evening, glimmering in sunrise or sunset, as he came back to Valinor from voyages beyond the confines of the world. More pictures here.

I'm a guy. I'm young. 19. I am the biggest Tolkien, and LotR movies fan, in the universe. I could pretty much teach a college level class on Tolkien. Read everything by him, and stuff about him. His Letters, etc. My 2 best buddies, are also some of the biggest LotR fans I know. And ladies, I find nothing weird or wrong about you all being such awesome Tolkien/LotR fans. I'm glad to be a part of the TORN family with all of you! EDIT: LotR is a girls movie? Thats interesting, because in behind the scenes of the Extended Editions, the actors say many times how it is a "guys films". But I guess that works both ways: The movie is kick @$$, and awesome, so guys like it, and since there are lots of "cute guys" in it, the girls like it. And I'm sure girls also like it because of the, well, total awesomeness that is LotR
Theres some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and its worth fighting for.

is a sign of a weak mind. It is a mind bereft of the ability of astute attention. It is a mind duped by its own ignorance into thinking that it knows without doubt. It is a folly, of the fool and its ego. I am a man. And i believe Tolkien is an illuminate soul. And i believe it takes the depth of one's yin and yang to embrace the essence of what he speaks. One cannot live just in the yang. I believe you should reach into the depth of your soul and your yin and do it without fear. It has nothing to do with being gay. It has everything to do with human wholeness. If you do the world of Being will flower and you will be able to touch the profound. It has everything to do with embracing the beauty of life. Without both you will be left with nothing but your squeaky toy; your ego.
"Tolkien, like Lewis, believed that, through story, the real world would become a more magical place, full of meaning. We see its patterns and colors in a fresh way. The recovery of a true view of the world applies both to individual things, like hills and stones, and to the cosmic - the depths of space and time itself. For in sub-creation, in Tolkien's view, there is a "survey" of space and time. Reality is captured on a miniature scale. Through stories like The Lord of the Rings, a renewed view of things is given, illuminating the homely, the spiritial, the physical, and the moral dimensions of the world." Tolkien and C.S. I'm stereotyping right now, in fact, as I observe that you are clearly compensating for...shortcomings in your arguments, perhaps...by displaying a photo in your signature/footer which is clearly many times larger than that which you are entitled to... Lame is as lame does.
