MY MUM BOUGHT ME A ONE RING FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

yep very special *still dancing crazily* When I called her a minute ago she said she'd often thought of getting me one, but she wanted it to be "special" and as she and my step-dad were going to NZ last month and they were going to Queenstown she knew exactly what she was getting me for my birthday. Can't believe she kept it quiet!!!

And I'd been cursing her after she told me my step-dad had bought her one LOL

My other half tends to buy me at least one LoTR gift at christmas/birthday time. The latest addition being my Glamdring replica. Most my family find my love of Middle Earth odd, so it's nice for someone to actually take an interest!
 
Mum had called me last week to tell me that my present had been ordered but wouldn't be here for two weeks. For some strange reason it takes around 4 weeks for post to arrive here from NZ. Geez even slower than Aussie Post [tongue]

So it was a REAL surprise when it turned up on wednesday, (monday was a public holiday here as well as NZ so that would've held things up a bit too)

The family managed to have a bit of a laugh at me as Ma had called hubby to tell him it was coming so both of em kept it from me!!!!! [unsure]

Dontcha just hate it when ya family gangs up and does something nice for ya??? rofl

and Happy Birthday for Sunday too.

One of my friends here has her birthday on Monday, so a group of us girls are going to a cafe (hopefully) on Tuesday to celebrate both birthdays [cool][cool]

Last year was her 30th and my 40th so all the girls went out to dinner and left our hubbys babysitting. It's hubbys 50th in October so got to plan something special for him this year, might ask my sister-in-law to have the kids for the weekend (it's another long weekend at his birthday too) and book us into a hotel somewhere [evil][evil][evil]

I think my family resigned themselves to my love of Middle-earth when I was a child, judging by some of the gifts I've gotten over the years LOL

Mum also told me that she's leaving her collection of Tolkien books to me in her will, I did ask if I could just have them now as I don't really want her to die anytime soon but she said I've got to wait, she's enjoying them LOL.

She did give me a Galadriel doll too about 18 years ago. She'd bought it when I was in my teens and she was kept in her box for all that time, now she graces my sideboard in my family room.
 
bit worried though, it seems to be growing in my mind...[tongue]

Mum can be infuriating at times, then she pulls a stunt like this [;)] she's tickled pink that they managed to fool me too LOL
