TORN member could use encouragement

Hi All, I just wanted to pass on that Sunflower is going through a difficult time and I am sure some encouragement would be appreciated at this time.

Hang in there Sunflower. You have many people who love you and are supporting you. Although sometimes it might feel like it ... it won't be forever. :)

sometimes that's all one can do. And then sometime suddenly you find you can look up and forward again. Hang in there Sunflower.

Don't despair. I know this sounds strange; but it's times like these that I found solace in LotR. I relate so much with how our characters each faced their fears and exhaustion in times of hopelessness... but they face it with faith. I've had days of poverty, despair, confusion, deep-sadness... but I also knew days like those would pass and they always seemed to come out better in the end when I didn't give in to those heartaches. Things happen for a reason, and it seems so unfair when you're deep into something and you can't imagine how to get through it... but you will. Trust in The Will of Good, read LotR (seriously) and you'll find it will speak to you in a whole new way and give you comfort.

I wish there was something I could do to ease whatever burden you're enduring. My thoughts and prayers are with you :)

*Hugs*

Have hope and courage dear Sunflower ... Im not sure what you are going through, but I do know that when we humans are at our weakest, lowest point and seem most vulnerable, beyond our own expectations, we find our strengths and true purpose ... you are so much more incredibly amazing in all these things than you might feel at the moment ...
Sending you ((((((((love and light))))))))))) [heart]

Elven

If there is anything my family and I can do, you have only to ask. You are in our prayers.
Bless you and those you love,
hob

Thank you so much everyone. I have not been able to get online for a couple days.....and yesterday I had set aside some time to get the Oscar nom news and I thought that would be a break from the situation, but then I came home from work and the news of Heath Ledger's tragic death hit and...well. I haven't replied in the Heath thread yet but I will. Believe me, I feel for his family and esp for his little girl. I know what untimely death of a close family member feels like. Don't worry, I will be back on here to chat as soon as I can. But this situation is just overwhelming right now.

I don't know how to say this (thanks Orcbane for starting this) I can just hint at it. It's...well....a housing issue. ....I can't say more. I had a scare a few months ago in this regard but got it by a miracle solved at the last minute. But this time there will be no rescue. I really don't have family at this time. I can't discuss this openly, if anyone wants to inquire further, mail me. The situation is as bad as it sounds...no, it's worse.

I can't believe how calmly I am typing this, but it's starting to feel surreal....

There is a way out of every problem. Sit in a quite place with sunlight and just..sit.

Today i was in my truck down in Bayonne by the docks and the big container ships loading and unloading. My main attention though was out over the water filling my eyes with the sparkle and with the dance of the seagulls in flight. I've had some worrys lately too and i just let my mind open up. After a time a couple of insights floated in.

I am with you kiddo. We all are. Steady as she goes:).

Far above the Ephel Dúath in the West the night-sky was still dim and pale. There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach. His song in the Tower had been defiance rather than hope; for then he was thinking of himself. Now, for a moment, his own fate, and even his masters, ceased to trouble him. He crawled back into the brambles and laid himself by Frodo’s side, and putting away all fear he cast himself into a deep untroubled sleep.

Thnaks....but the Star wont be coming out fir me. I have no lembas or companion here. I never would have gotten over the Stair. I am in toomuch stress. I wont be able to sleep...

Tnbakf you all

Sunflower, we don't know each other, but I am sorry to learn you are going through such a difficult time. My thoughts and best wishes are with you, and I hope you find a solution soon!

(((((hugs)))))

I don't know what terrible circumstances you are facing, but you don't know what the future will bring.

There is a current local story about a man who was falsely accused of committing a terrible murder and spent ten years in prison, before being exonerated by DNA testing. He's now being welcomed back into the community with love and apologies: Tim Masters

And my mother is facing a situation from which there will be no reprieve: she has Parkinsons and is losing a bit of her physical and mental strength every day, but her spirit is as strong as ever. Twenty years ago she was crippled by rhumatoid arthrits at the age of 57 and had to give up the hiking and dancing she loved. But now, as her mind begins to wander into occasional hallucinations, she's joyfully reliving the best days of her youth. With a big smile she tells us "It's so wonderful to be back here at the dance ranch." As I watch her, I think maybe these hallucinations are actually little forays into heaven, that as she slips closer to death she's starting to have previews of what heaven will be. She doesn't believe that at all: she's adamant that there is no afterlife. And yet she still manages to live with joy.

I know from personal experience that depression is extraordinarily painful. One Christmas Eve I seriously considered lying down in the snow and let the flakes gently cover me up, falliing asleep and not waking up, but I didn't because I had obligations to other people I needed to continue to fulfil. Now, years later, I'm so glad I decided to live.

I can't do anything to make it better for you, but I can at least send you my love and prayers. {{{Sunflower}}}

I am sending you prayers of comfort and peace of mind dear Sunflower. Orcbane is indeed a great friend to have posted this for you, as I have found tremendous strength and comfort from everyone here at TORn many times in the past. You truly will not have to feel like you are facing this alone - although it may feel like it.

Gramma is right in taking solace through re-reading LOTR. I did so a few months ago after losing my job and discovering a tumor. I am now employed and the tumor has been removed and I am slowly recovering. I read LOTR for comfort and strength during that time and it really did help. I am also facing a bit of a housing crisis at the moment due to the time spent unemployed - yet I know that faith works wonders. I place my trust there and in Sam's star.

Do not let your fear and anxieties overwhelm you. It wreaks havoc with your mind. Take the advice of spending some time looking at water, or the trees and breathe deeply and relax. The answer will present itself to you.

I am not on TORn as much as I'd like due to R/L, but I know this is the place for you to find a wealth of information and comfort. I was overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of spirit from everyone here.

Keep your spirit and faith intact as best you can. No one can take those away from you.

for this noble gesture on your part. It reassures me chivalry is not dead as they say! I have p.m.ed Sunflower with some good wishes.
