Thursday evening I'll be at Comic Con party, then my friend Bill Popp's show

Hope it's OK to start a new thread -- just wondering who will be around and if you want to meet up Thursday (tomorrow!) evening. I'm planning to go to these:

6 PM: Comic Con One-Year-Out Party.
(They say "put on your bowling shoes," but I hope that's not to be taken literally as I don't have any. And I've bowled maybe twice in my life. But I figure that just watching people and hanging out will be fun, anyway.)

8 PM: if you're looking for something to do before (or instead of) the Beecake show, I'd like to recommend my friend Bill Popp, who is playing that night at Kenny's Castaways. Aside from being a talented musician and songwriter, Bill is one of the nicest people I know. He's been organizing an annual benefit concert for the American Heart Association for 20+ years, and is widely known among NYC musicians (and others) for his generosity and industriousness. I've got various anecdotes if anyone wants. [cool]

I don't know the cover charge but I doubt it would be more than $10. You can call and ask the club if you want.

Anyone interested? If not, I'm curious what you'll be up to. Thanks.

I've walked past this bowling place a million times, and never came in. I didn't know it's like a nightclub inside. I like loud rock music, but not while I'm trying to bowl I think. [crazy] Neon pins, video screens and $15 drinks. Might not stay much longer. Bowlers are having fun though.

I went to a childrens' birthday party at a bowling alley a few weekends back, in the late afternoon. It was cute and fun ... and then as soon as it was 6pm, the place completely changed character - down went the lights and up came the neon glow and the video screens, and I can tell you as soon as those videos started rolling, we escorted those 7 year olds out mighty quick [crazy].

Glad you enjoyed your friend's show at least!
