It turns out someone copied the story I posted on TORn and that's the first result. I do want to show you the second result, for a different reason:

This is the picture from the card of the Kenner Prince Xizor action figure, from 1996. Prince Xizor was the villain of Shadows of the Empire, the 1996 Star Wars multimedia project that included a comic book, a videogame and a novel. Back in 2001, Lucas Arts announced the release of RTS game Galactic Battlegrounds, so I started participating in the fan forums the day they opened. I chose that avatar and never changed it. It was well-known in the forums that I had the record for the longest-unchanged avatar, and I even had it as my signature. That was a great community, the first one in which I made good friends. Incidentally, this is the second.

Anyway, if you search Compa_Mighty you'll find my current avatar several times. The Dragon Helm of Dor Lomin has accompanied me for 2 years now. []

When you are on a Google Image Search page, find a link for preferences.

On the preferences pages, find

SafeSearch Filtering

Google's SafeSearch blocks web pages containing explicit sexual content from appearing in search results.

Use strict filtering (Filter both explicit text and explicit images)
Use moderate filtering (Filter explicit images only - default behavior)
Do not filter my search results.

As I said, I use moderate and I'm not too exposed to images I'd be upset with. But a few do filter through so for younger children, I'd chose 'strict'.

The most innocuous terms can result in possibly problematic images (and everybody has their own boundaries). I did a search for a nursery rhyme character once that got up all kinds of sexually explicit images (presumably with a different setting than moderate... it was a long time ago). I can't remember which character it was now, though.

Oh, and a bunch of spiders, birds and ants...

Fun, but can't say any of them were "me" -- though I bet my husband kind of wishes the Sigourney Weaver one was...and I kind of wish the Keanu Reeves look-a-like was "Mr. Weaver"!
