Who are the people "high up" and how reliable is that source? I simply cannot imagine that Jack who is running the Noldor blog just made up all this stuff. He is a LOTR tour guide here in Wellington and certainly not the type of guy who would post all that information just to make fun of us. Would ruin his business too, wouldn't it? So, whoever published the post above, please reveal your sources.
 
Yes sure, I did not really mean it that way but it would bring a bit of miscredit on him, wouldn't it? After all, he went to great lengths to get all that information and he seems to have reliable sources (which he also mentioned by name) whereas whoever published the above post does not even say who their sources are. I find that a bit odd.
 
I'm sorry, I'm not a follower of the Noldor Blog. I honestly only visit it when TORn links to it. So I apologize if I'm missing something obvious, but The Noldor Blog also seems to be using an unnamed source. The only reference to said source that I can find is:

Now, I'm not associated with either site and I don't know anything about the industry besides what I pick up on sites like these, but it seems that many sources continue to give information only if they are kept anonymous. I don't know if that's true of TORn's sources, but it's possible.

And just for the record, News from Bree is the username for posts linked from the home page of TORn. In this case, I see that the news was originally posted by Xoanon, one of the four founders of this site. Just so you can put a name to the post.
 
Well, Noldor gives the name of the company, not the one of individuals, of course. As a source name, I find that sufficient because you would actually be able to follow that up.
Thanks for the information, I was not aware that the publisher of the post was one of the founders. Still, I would like her/him to mention at least where exactly he got his information from. After all, I don't know what kind of connections he/she has whereas Jack makes his connections quite transparent.

just had my coffee break and scanned the local newspaper. An ad for the casting call is in it today and it gives exactly the same address as the Noldor Blog :-)

A casting call would typically be in the "Positions Available" section of a paper. What you scanned is just a small story about what was reported right here at TORn, thanks to Jack, who we're great friends with, btw.

As far as Xoanon's sources - if he could say who they were he would. If he doesn't give their names, it's because they asked him not to. Nothing more than professional journalistic courtesy. [:)]

It's a news story, and the reporter has included a key piece of information - the address for sending CVs. There's no more to it than that.
 
Oh well, I really give up now :-(
I find all this very frustrating. I don't know anymore what to believe and what not :-(
 
Yes, I was aware of that but I really did not believe that you could publish something like this with address and all if it wasn't true, particularly in this case where it is likely to cause a stir.
