So, titans still respect each other: Avatar 2 & 3 in 2014 and 2015. No box office feud vs. The Hobbit.

Press Release at Ain't it Cool News.

So, this is RELEVANT for The Hobbit. For whatever reason, be it Jackson's and Cameron's friendship, Weta's almost exclusive involvement in The Hobbit or a simple studio decision, in order not to split box office, one thing's for certain: we now know what the top-grossing films will be between 2012 and 2015, and that we'll have something to look forward each December for half a decade! (Oh and that Disney and other studios will release their tentpoles late in November or very early in December to avoid what will most certainly be insurmountable competition.) [;)]

That NASA's anticipation of a massive solar storm in 2012 is off by a few years then. Can't make/watch movies in a global blackout.

Tintin comes out about the third week of December. Do we credit PJ or Spielberg?

I can't find documentation but I think there is another big movie vs. The Hobbit in 2012. Does that scratch anybody's brain?

Summer blockbusters include The Avengers and the new Spiderman. We could pesumably say Fox might release The Silver Chair in December 2012 should Voyage of the Dawn Treader fare well, but that's another scale of movie, and would possibly be released much earlier. I can't think of any winer tentpole... as they are normally not announced with such long notice. Unless your movie is in Middle-earth or Pandora, naturally!

I know WB still has its new Superman movie listed for a Winter 2012 release. The Dark Knight Rises releases in July of that year.

Those are all summer releases.

And Captain America and X-Men release next year, not 2012 [;)].

Looks like the next few years are gonna be fun! I will be spending a lot of time at the movies!

Spiderman 4
Batman 3
Twilight 4 (god forbid but this is an opponent, the 2nd part of this franchise is apparantly to come out in Nov 2012)

.. it's just they never said, nor believed, that the world will end at that date. One cycle ends, a new one begins, thats all. The apocalypse is just a media invention, and planet Nibiru can't possibly exist, since highly eliptical orbits are very unstable.

Let's look at it from another point of view - the Mayans predicted the premiere of the Hobbit, pretty close too [tongue]

Four consecutive Decembers to wait for, it will be a feast [cool]

is being directed by Spielberg and produced by Jackson. (The cast of the first film is really terrific; I got excited just reading about it on Wikipedia despite having to prior knowledge of the Tintin comics.) Tintin 2 was to be directed by Jackson and produced by Spielberg, and Tintin 3 was to be co-directed and co-produced by both Jackson and Spielberg. But all that's up in the air now, due to Jackson stepping in to direct The Hobbit. It seems that Guillermo's departure has set off a chain reaction that's messing up multiple wonderful collaborations.

their calender ends, lets just have that happen, none of that other speculation about the end of the world or other stuff!
