Welcome, one and all, to this week's Friday Fiesta, where we celebrate making it through another week and into another long-awaited weekend. Even though snow is still subbornly falling in many parts of the U.S., the daffodils and tulips are just as stubbornly ignoring it and coming up anyway.

As usual, the bar and buffet are well stocked. So, grab a libation and nibble of your choice and let us know how things are going with you and yours. [:)]

I can't resist daffs!

Despite it being very cold here this week, it has also been bright and sunny, which is a nice change! I am almost at the point where it's light when I wake up, now that will be lovely! A cold snap is expected again though, I just hope it doesn't harm all the spring flowers that have popped up!

It's been a very busy week, both at work and at home. We got our offer accepted on a house we both love, (squeee!!!) and have been busy visiting the estate agents, and arranging a mortgage and a solictor. Our mortgage offer should be finalised after our meeting with the bank tomorrow. After that, we just sit back and wait! Am so excited!!

Oh and I have Monday off to go get my tattoo, which I'm really looking forward to. It's been a long time in the planning, but it's going to look awesome!

now I'm retired -- it's great! I'm further behind on the projects I want to do at home, there's been quite a lot of discussion, negotiating and such. If he would just do what I want without question, things would go a lot faster! Not that that ever happens.

It's been quite sunny here lately, but still freezing at night. There's a prediction of snow flurries again this weekend. A very unusual winter for us this year. But my bulbs are all sticking their heads up as well, although the deer have started their night-time forays already. A trio of very noisy Stellar's jays were at the feeder this morning, first time I've seen them so far.

I'll have coffee with a pick-me-up, please Altaira, since the step-g'son is coming for the weekend, and it'll be busy and noisy. It's always nice to have him around but he's a little high maintenance!

Back from a very warm (and busy) South Africa to a cold cold (and busy) Scotland. Looking forward to a quiet weekend (when I can drag myself away from work [unsure] )

At least I saw some bulbs starting to flower this morning - spring must be on the way!

Yes, daffodils and tulips are up here too, and crocus. Buds are swelling but winter is not over yet, me'thinks!



Happy day here - unemployed but getting a yard of compost and have bought my fruit tress - getting help finishing digging the holes (deep and wide) - will be able to plant them tomorrow. I love to play in the dirt.

WOW it's been a week! I have had a moment every day since Tuesday where I thought it was Friday.

I've been working in the school musical, playing keyboards for the past few weeks, and the actual musical is this weekend (tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday). It's Les Mis this year (I'm putting "stars" in my avatar to celebrate), and I'm very excited to see how it's been turning out. And Menelwyn's coming, too! (she's a huge fan of Les Mis)

This is also the end of our school quarter, which was very short, so I've had roughly a billion tests and essays due this week. I'm still a little irritated with whoever decided to have the musical on the same week as the end of the quarter AND the same week the Rodeo starts. Oh, and the same week the U2 CD came out, which I've been finding five-minute intervals to listen to throughout the week.

Anyway, I've barely had enough time to check posts, and I've been planning my schedule this week very meticulously so that I could get all my school work done, learn the 178 pages of piano music that I need to play for three hours straight three times this weekend, and go to the Rodeo opening night with some friends, since a friend's mom bought tickets for us for Tuesday for a graduation present (very thoughtful, but we'd thought that it was going to be over spring break). However, I managed to include in my schedule a post reply to this thread, for fun! (some of that is always good!)

The week started out really cold, but now it's toasty warm outside. It's supposed to get up to 75F or so tomorrow. And after lows in the teens earlier this week, that'll be a wonderful change! Typical Tennessee weather: completely unpredictable.

I think I might take advantage of the weather and do some mad spring cleaning. I have way too much clutter around the boat, and getting some of it out of there will make life easier. Also might have someone look at my transmission, since it's been broken almost a year now. I've decided I'm going to use my tax refund to get it fixed. It'll be so nice to be able to go forward again!

And since Watchmen opened today, I'll try to catch a matinee tomorrow. I'm so excited!

On a work note, my pizza mode is done. So I'm finished cooking frozen pizza for a while! Yes!!! I love pizza, but even I was getting tired of looking at it.

It sounds like you're thoroughly enjoying your retirement, Elberbeth. I can't think of a nicer person to have it happen too. And, even with lall that osing track of time you still make it to Fiesta, so I it's comforting to know you still have your priorities straight. [laugh]

I have already different colours of crocus in my garden and other bulbs are coming up, although I have no idea what they will turn out to be, I just can't remember which bulb I planted where [crazy].

But I think I'm picking up a bit of the flu-epidemic from a few weeks ago. It started yesterday and keeps getting a bit worse since, sore throat, head ache, my ears hurt, when I swallow I hear it in my ears, so that might be a cold coming up.
So for me a nice big cup of tea with honey, hopefully that will do the trick and stop that cold from coming up. (I'm almost starting the feel sorry for myself).

For the rest it just has been busy, but what is new. So this is for the weekend [heart][heart][heart], I hope everybody has fun!

What else? Started a new diet this week. I'm hoping to stick with this one. Beyond that, life seems to be stranger than usual this week, so I'm just waiting around for normal to reappear.

A tall Raspberry Iced Tea to go, please, in honor of the season. Just cleaning on the schedule for this weekend, and maybe a nice walk in the woods.

on a very daring spot, my right upper arm! [tongue] It has been drawn, and redrawn several times, as both myself and the artist were debating what position it would look best in. We did consider having it stood on it's hind legs and snarling at one point, but the trouble is, bears don't tend to do that very often, and when they do, it looks awkward and unnatural. And, the snarling looked a little OTT. So in the end we settled for having a bear on all fours, sat on a large rock, with some pine trees in the background. The sketch looks very good. I'll be sure to post it here once it's healed up!

When Neil saw the sketch, he said it reminded him of that part in the Hobbit, where Bilbo notices a large bear following their party... Beorn! I thought that was very cool!
 
I'm worn out just reading about everything you have to do, lol. [laugh] I'd tell you to try to find some time to relax, but you don't have time to relax, lol. Best of luck with all of it!
 
I have a bit of that to do myself. I'm convinced there are unknown laws of physics at work with clutter, as it seems to reproduce all by itself, lol. [laugh]

*skids in late* (Sorry; had to help someone with some computer work... but I'm here now! :) )

Well, my site's new Music Awards edition went up on schedule last Sunday (actually complete with one winner who has a slight LOTR connection... the band who won Best Third Release was named after its frontwoman, whose parents named her after a certain LOTR character! :D And no, they were *not* chosen because of that -- they would've won anyway. I thought it was a neat coincidence, though. :) ).
