Jackson also revealed details of his latest projects. He is writing the script for the The Hobbit with partner Fran Walsh, longtime collaborator Philippa Boyens and Mexican director Guillermo del Toro.
Jackson said the writing was "a lot of fun... we're enjoying working with Guillermo very much, and I'm convinced he's going to make two wonderful films".
He said shooting would start in March

In an interview with OnFilm magazine, Jackson accused the commission of creating a producer-led industry and treating directors and writers like "second-class citizens".
"The film-making talent of New Zealand does not reside in the office of its producers - it's to be found in the hearts and minds of its writers and directors," he said.

Golly, I miss him. I miss his humour, his voice, his hobbity-look... but I enjoy getting a fix of his defiance. He battled that Commission giant for so many years. I can't help but laugh that now he's become a part of the machine and can now evoke change from within. It's SO hippie, 1960s/70s battle against the "establishment". Grow up and get inside the world of "The Man". Here's Peter's years of hard work and devotion to his art paying off. This is going to take NZ film to a whole larger level!

When I see, hear or read any comments or interviews from PJ I love how much I recognise from the giddy, laidback twenty-something PJ who happily demonstrated his special effects in the Bad Taste documentary.

Although he is clearly more mature and jaded, he still has the same childlike appreciation for filmmaking. By god that man has a fire inside him. If he didn't get to make movies he's probably wither and perish,

I LOVE listening to P.J., Fran, and Phillipa on the LOTR commentary track. I sure hope that when the time comes for a Hobbit commentary track, P.J. will be back with his insights and humor.
