Uncle Baggins called me from work this morning at 5:30 and said "Hey, go look at the moon and Venus! And take some pictures if you can." So I got up and took some photos, and when he got home at 6 he took some more. At about 6:15 Venus disappeared behind the moon, but by then the sky was so light the cameras couldn't pick it up, though we could still see it with our eyes. Venus lingered on the rim of the moon, got dimmer, and then went out. Amazing. Here are three of the photos:
