New LEGO Lord of the Rings Trailer

Perhaps Bombadil, Quickbeam, Gwaihir, Glorfindel, Ghan, Radagast, Elrohir and Elladan (among others). And a whole bunch of random Hobbits, Men, Elves and Orcs.
 
That should mean every minor character in the movies is available to control, as well as lots of other awesome characters!
I do hope you'll get to play as monsters as well (i.e. bigger than trolls). Only seems to be human-sized characters in the Star Wars games.
 
I would say around the same number of characters are available, possibly slightly more, definitely more when you add up all the guys from all the different versions (I think there has been about 3 or 4 Lego SW games).

However, we will certainly not get 85 unique characters as some will be different versions of the same character (e.g. Aragorn as Strider and Aragorn as King Elessar, among others.) There will probably be at least two different versions of each fellowship member.

That's going to quickly decrease the overall number of different characters!
 
By the time most of the film characters, including the baddies have been added to the list, there probably won't be room for old Bomby after all!

Still, it's going to be a great game, of that much I'm sure.
 
...that some of the unique characters will be duplicates in terms of abilities; For example, a character might have an unique visual appearance, but will play out with the gameplay abilites of one of the main characters. The tie-in games to the Trilogy featuring Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli, did the same thing, the unlockable characters were essentially just reskins of some of the original characters.
