Movies with LOTR references

Hey everybody!
So we all know that LOTR has become a big part of all of our lives (otherwise we wouldn't hang out here right?) it has filled the minds of many around the world.
There are Tolkien references in much of culture, so let's put our heads together and list some of them!

Here's what I got for movies:
RV-- at the campsite the son gets called "Frodo" (and that's supposed to be an insult??) by some of the bigger kids
Run Fat Boy Run-- I was surprised when I heard Ian McKellen's voice, and even more when I saw all of the references!!
Wolverine--My dad saw (I need to see again, somehow it escaped me) that a bumper sticker on the old farmers car has the quote "Not all those who wander are lost"
Simon Birch--Some of the kids on the baseball field call Simon a hobbit (again I fail to see how this is considered an insult!)

I'm not much in the way for music (I listen to a bit, mostly movie soundtracks, Evanescence and Enya, though) but I have heard Ramble On by Led Zeplin, and know they have other songs (I think) with LOTR references, but that's all I have for music.
Books:
Inkheart, they talk about wishing they were in Hobbiton, Mo and Meggy write to each other in Tengwar and they talk about the books.
I think that's all I can think of in books.
Anyone care to add to any of these lists?
 
Up-and-coming Christian hip/hop artist Heath McNease released a song entitled "Nerd Out (12 Point Power Sword)" on his album The Gun Show. He makes numerous references to Peter Jackson and Gandalf, and even comments how he "likes New Zealand accents." In fact, he goes on a 30 second rant on how disappointed he was that Tom Bombadil wasn't in the FOTR. It's a must-listen for fans of the film...

As for movies, I recently watched "Old Dogs" and there were several instances where a shorter character was described as a Hobbit. There was also the passing joke from a security gaurd who said, "You shall not pass," which, combined with the Hobbit name-calling, I believe was meant as a reference.

I heard that "Night at the Museum 2" had a LOTR reference, but after watching it twice, I've yet to identify it. Has anybody found it?

Juno (2007): Juno says her boyfriend's mom is "like a hobbit - the one who was in The Goonies..." (or something like that)

In the Loop (2009): Almost the last words of the movie: Toby, the young British civil servant, tries to apologize to the older American military guy (James Gandolfini) for everything that's gone (comically) wrong in the story. The reply: F*** off, Frodo"
 
In the TV series "Friends" (I know it is not a movie, but still...), Ross and Chandler had a college friend they called "Gandalf" because they had a lot of fun with him.

In music... I know the Finnish heavy metal band Nightwish has two songs with LOTR references (Elvenpath and Wishmaster).
 
It's a tv show about 4 scientist-geek-nerds, with more LOTR references than I've ever seen in any one program.

They talk a lot about Comic Con and one of the characters dressed up as Frodo for Halloween. IIRC, the four geeks had to "call" Frodo, in order to prevent all four of them showing up dressed as Frodo. They mention Legolas a couple of times, but I think it's more in reference to his action figure.

Any others I'm missing? Eowyn of Penn Woods probably knows. [;)]

We've been Netflixing the show and have just run out of episodes. Waa.


I also recall an episode of Sex in the City where Candace Bergin is Carrie's boss and refers to a man as a hobbit. She means it in a derogatory way. I'm ready for that stuff to stop. [mad]

We've also been getting them from Netflix, I have to say that's the best show I've seen.
Just the other week they had a rerun of the episode where they found the One Ring.
I tihnk in another episode Sheldon makes Leonerd some "Frodo pancakes"

Imaginationland (Trilogy) - racy again but they have the Orc from the cartoon "Hobbit", Jesus as Aragorn leading the charge during a Helms Deep type battle, Gandalf as one of the characters, Rivendell as Castle Sunshine, etc.

There's a Simpson's episode, "Rome-old and Juli-eh," that reenacts the battle of Helm's Deep (with some of the Pelennor thrown in) as Bart & Lisa in a box fort vs. an army of UPS carriers, complete with Howard Shore's score.
 
(Another non-movie, I know)

A very funny duo from NZ, they have (had?) a show on HBO. Great stuff. The skinny on epsode 11, season one can be found here, which has the song "Frodo, don't wear the Ring." I won't post a link to the video, partly because I can't get on Youtube at work, and partly because it's probably rated PG-13. It's crazy funny, though.

BONUS FACT! Bret McKenzie, the shorter half of Flight of the Conchords, is none other than Figwit of FotR and RotK glory.

that would be Clerks 2. Very funny exchange with content that would make sailors blush. Watch (not just the LOTR v SW scene, but the entire movie) at your own risk.
 
I remember a couple of references from the British mystery series Rosemary & Thyme.

In “The Memory of Water” Laura is hiding under a desk and when found she says that she is a Hobbit in a hole.

In “The Cup of Silence” Laura tells Rosemary that her son is going to New Zealand and Rosemary says, “Oh good, he can meet Gandalf!”
 
There is (in my opinion) a very funny scene involving an altercation between a customer in a fast food restaurant (LotR fan) and one of the employees (a Star Wars fan). Since this is a family board I can't repeat most of the dialogue (it IS a Kevin Smith movie!), but the SW fans major gripe with LotR was that it was 3 movies of just walking. :)

Yes, Ramble On by Led Zeppelin directly mentions Mordor and Gollum.

"The Battle of Evermore" refers indirectly to Galadriel, Aragorn and Sauron, and is about the Battle of Pelennor Fields.

"Misty Mountain Hop" (all three of these songs are on the album that's called either "the Runes album" or "Led Zeppelin IV")

"Kashmir" from the album "Physical Graffiti" references the Elves from Tolkien.
