Misty Mountain weekend update -- the floor is done!! Check it out...

Hi All,
I haven't updated you in awhile -- it has taken me longer than I expected to finally finish the Meduseld-inspired floor in the cafe. Thankfully, it is done (but I don't think my elbows will ever be the same again after all that carving [unsure]).
I have done a few other LOTR related things in the cafe but I want to leave some things as a surprise for those of you who plan to visit me way up here [:)]!

I should imagine that you and many others will be gaining pleasure from it long after your elbows have recovered.

Thanks for showing those of us who are too far away to come for the weekend and a nice cup of coffee.

And 'this is an eye opener and no mistake'. This is just so beautiful. It makes me take a deep breath and i can't stop gazing at it. It has such grace.....I think there is a soul in [heart] with Tolkien up in the wilds of N.Y.:).

It is very beautiful indeed! So, what's next? Blown glass sconces?
You rock. And we do love surprises!

Wow MM, you certainly go all-out for surprise features! That is just beautiful. And it's a great way to get customers talking! Love it!

That is really lovely, and I'm sure all your visitors will love it whether they recognize the source or not!

And, luckily, no ladders were involved. [cool][;)]

All kidding aside... that is one GORGEOUS floor. Very, VERY impressive. [:)]

I don't think there's anything else to say!
Awesome job!!!!
I'd love to be able to come visit. Not possible in the immediate future, but I'm there in thought!
Congrats on all that you've accomplished so far!

I can't imagine you crowing on the floor for all those work!!
Mide if I ask where the shop would be?
Would like to put it in my "MUST-GO" list

Most of the things I want to say are words of one syllable: wow, great, etc.

That is beautiful. I certainly hope everyone who sets foot in the (also beautiful) door, appreciates the work you have done!

Here's to fast healing elbows!

What a beautiful work of art. If I ever do visit (and I plan to, eventually!) I will be afraid to walk on the floor. Maybe you should have customers take their shoes off on entering??

Just a thought.

[cool]

You are a real artist.

a.s.

For starters, I can't fathom the ingenuity it took to lay out such an intricate pattern on the floor. It fills up the space beautifully - you got the proportions just right. I also love the color - the red contrasts well with the golden wood base. Good for you! Congratulations!

Great job, MM! It looks absolutely beautiful. I hope it inspires lots of great conversations at the cafe. I hope your elbows recover. I hope your nose has recovered also!

I'm so proud of you and all the care and effort you're putting into this! You're amazing!

But you're also a horrible TEASE!!!! *twitch* Now I'll definitely have to get there someday! :D

While I will take credit for the work it took to do this project, I cannot, however, take credit for the artistry involved. That pattern was invented by some incredibly creative genius who worked on the films.

Gramma, my nose is almost completely back to normal. It only hurts a little if I bump it or something. Rest assured, my nose is okay. The rest of my body is complaining, though! I have never had my back give me so much trouble. I sure could use a massage [unsure].

For those of you who are just seeing one of my posts and wants to know where my cafe is located, you can visit the website at www.mistymountainbakerycafe.com. There are some other pics there under the link "Remodeling pics" on the top of the page (but nothing LOTR related in those pics --- I save those for you guys only!).
