LOTR on Blu-ray...old news?

so was there in fact any announcement made about the release of the trilogy on Blu-ray?
if it's old news please forgive me...

April 16th is the date I've heard for release...marathon on my new player seems imminent...[;)]
 
There was an announcement about LOTR on blu-ray made a day or two before our promised "big news" and then a day or two after the promised announcement, a new splash page appeared on lordoftherings.net.
