Gondor
I love Baldur’s Gate and still play it. I have also have played Neverwinters nights, and Icewind Dale, but I did not like them as much as BG.
I’m leaning toward The Elder Scrolls but I’m not sure which game I need to buy first there are so many.

You should play Dragon Age: Origins. It's the best single-player fantasy RPG in years, it's made by Bioware just like Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights, and it's been called a spiritual successor to the Baldur's Gate series.

I think you would like it.

As far as I know there are four chapters to Elder Scrolls. I have briefly played ES III - Morrowind, it is cool. I have spend a lot of time on ES IV - Oblivion. But I played those on consoles. Oblivion rocks, fantastic game I thought. No need to play the previous three to understand the quests in this one.

The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Game of the Year Edition, for a whopping $19.99. The Game of the Year Edition includes the original version of Oblivion along with the official expansion, The Elder Scrolls IV Shivering Isles, and the downloadable content, Knights of the Nine, it also includes the patch. My biggest worry is my pc has Vista.

I also bought Dungeon Siege 2 Broken World Expansion Pack for $1.99 and the DvD Burn after Reading for $3.49. So I only spent $25.47 including free shipping.

I do intend to buy Dragon Age at some point. I read all the reviews on Amazon and it looks to be an instant classic.

Thanks so much for the input. No telling what I would have bought without it.
