In this pretty thin interview Jed does mention one thing of interest: What the Dwarven fellowship did to mark their time on The Hobbit. Instead of getting tattoos (as the LOTR fellowship did)...

"We got especially designed rings inscribed on the inside ... very secret stuff you understand, not to be spoken of outside the group ... oops."

Some of the older actors probably wouldn't want something as permanent as a tattoo; but what a nice touch for them to all have something.
