It is possible to embed Youtube videos in a post?

As I understand it, Youtube hosts the video, so it wouldn't burden this site's servers, but I don't know if there is a way to embed the video in a post the way I would embed a photo. I'm guessing not, or else I think I would have see it done before. I have seen very short moving pictures, but I think they were .gif images.

I can see the video playing but I can't hear the sound; nor can I hear the sound on YouTube. (I *can* hear the sound of other videos).

I don't think there are any issues except that using YouTube's band-width isn't good netiquette. As with anything hosted on someone elses website, it's probably better to just provide a link to it so people go to YouTube to watch it and they get the 'hit.'

They provide the html coding so you can embed it into your own site. When an owner of a video doesn't wish you to embed it... they turn that function off.

But I can't get the html coding to work right now at TORn. (It works on my site, for example) And I don't know if it meets TORns guidelines.

I had similar problems with Picasa. One approach wouldn't work. Another approach made the image be a link back to the Picasa album which is against TORn rules. So I had to use Photobucket for images I wanted to show here.

The reason you can't hear anything is because the audio has been disabled by YouTube due to copyright violations. If there was audio, you would be able to hear it.
