Invisible Bilbo in the Elvenking's Halls

We know that in the book, when the dwarves are captured by the elves, Bilbo uses the ring to turn invisible and follow the dwarves without being captured himself. The book then talks about how he stays invisible as he wanders around the halls, learning his way around and figuring out where each dwarf is being held while sometimes grabbing food and following the elven hunting parties out and back in. How do you think the movie will illustrate invisible Bilbo in the Elvenking's Halls? Will we even get to see invisible Bilbo sneaking around or do you think he'll just kind of turn invisible and we don't see him again until he helps the dwarves escape?
I thought it might be cool if we are allowed to sort of follow invisible Bilbo around for a little bit, watch him trying to avoid being caught and maybe even eavesdropping on some important conversations between Legolas/Tauriel/Thranduil.

What do you all think?

Perhaps he overhears that conversation between Thranduil and Tauriel (in the trailer)...
Maybe we'll see him sneaking around the cells with the Dwarves (I doubt they'll have many different cells scattered around Thranduil's halls - though they may have 12 dwarves clustered around the same area and have Thorin a few rooms away).
I also don't think Bilbo will spend weeks (like in the book) working out where the Dwarves are, how to get outside, and finding the Barrels that they send out to drift along to LakeTown.

Interesting question though - I was wondering that myself.

Bilbo will free them pretty much straightaway, I'm sure of this. Remember, this was meant to be the climax of the first film, originally. Everything is going to be fast paced during these scenes, and dangerous! If Bilbo is hanging around the halls for a time that would really slow things down...

I am really looking foward to this part of the movie!

Yet again, they might spend a few days in prison while we get to follow Gandalf to Dol Guldur. I really hope we get to see Bilbo sneaking around a little in the elven realm [] perhaps Tauriel will find out about Bilbo, since there is a rumour that she will help the dwarves escape or "overlook" it.

Bilbo will free them pretty much straightaway, I'm sure of this. Remember, this was meant to be the climax of the first film, originally. Everything is going to be fast paced during these scenes, and dangerous! If Bilbo is hanging around the halls for a time that would really slow things down...

All we need is the impression of time passing. We don't need to follow Bilbo every step of the way. Weeks could pass in mere minutes of screen time.

I didn't want to make a separate thread for this, because it's chaos at the moment. But I wonder if the stag that they kill by the Enchanted River will be the one we see Thranduil riding in AUJ (or related to that one at least)?

Anyway, assuming the stag would have even lived long enough to be the same one, why would it be allowed to just run loose like that where it could be hurt or killed? I would think Thranduil would at least want it to be kept somewhere near his halls so it would be nearby if he needed it.

I guess it could be related to the one Thranduil was riding but how would the movie make that connection clear to the audience?

and cut right to Spiders and Elves finding Dwarves to make it more action packed in the forest? He's always into cutting certain details and i don't know how the stag would fit in frankly....just opinion... =)

It's supposed to be a stag that the elves are hunting - a reference to the 'wild hunt' of folklore, and an important detail in the book that helps bind the story to European mythology. I'm sure PJ wouldn't miss the chance to put this in. It also sets up their desperation for food - they shoot the deer but cannot get to the body to eat it. And, they annoy Thranduil by interfering in his hunt.

It's important that the whole adventure isn't seen as just running from one danger to the next. There are supposed to be slower parts, and it's also important that the dwarves spend sufficient time in Thranduil's dungeons to get really resentful toward the elves.

The ignominy of Thorin's imprisonment - if you compare it with his proud status in front of Thranduil in the AUJ prologue, strengthens his resolve to refuse to compromise with the Laketowners, even though he knows they have a valid case, because they've turned up with Thranduil's people in tow.
