In what way will Azog be slain?

boldog

Rohan
I don't think many people have discussed this. We have discussed WHO kills him, but not HOW he dies. Will he be simply stabbed multiple times, in various body parts? Will he have his throat sliced? Will he fall off a cliff? Will he get squashed by a falling object? Will he get piercd by an arrow/s? or will he be decapitated? I believe, as much as I don't want to see him die in such a way[:(], that they will have him be decapitated. It will go in line with the actual canon of Tolkien. Just how much they will show of it, like head rolling off in full view of his face, or just seeing his head fall from a distance, is what im not sure of. Even the gore factor is another thing. Im not sure if they will show blood squirting everywhere or not. what do you think the gore factor of his death should be like?

Also another thing, in the canon when he is decapitated, he has a bag of coins stuffed into his lifeless mouth. Could they do the same thing on screen? Though I doubt this, because there is no mention of Azog giving anyone any coins in the movie as he did to thror in the canon story.
either way what are your thoughts?

Given that they obliquely showed Azog slaying Thrór via decapitation, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Dain or Thorin returns the favor in kind.

I want a scene where Azog kills either Fili, Kili or both and then the rest of the Dwarves lay into him so severely that he finally eats it. Then Bolg comes from behind and stabs Thorin through the stomach....:o

There's supposed to be a theme of fathers and sons in DOS. We've seen Bolg in costume at a set that looks like Dol Guldur. Up until the Dol Guldur Lego playset pictures, I was under the impression that Bolg would be encountered at Dol Guldur; this set has Azog at Dol Guldur. I would love to see Azog/Bolg's Father/Son theme climax at Dol Guldur. Perhaps Bolg is more dedicated to the Necromancer's cause than Azog. Azog could be worried about his son's devotion to the Necromancer, and confront Bolg over it. Then, the climax: Bolg butchers Azog at Dol Guldur, making his slain father an offering to the Necromancer.

Perhaps once Azog sees how immensely popular Bolg is and just how unpopular he is, he'll fall on his sword in the first 10 minutes of AUJ or less and save us further anguish and debate.

Azog: "Son, can't you see he's just USING YOU?!"

Bolg: "Dad, for the first time in my life, I feel like I have a purpose!! You aren't going to screw this up for me!!"
