I just won tickets for advance screening of Half Blood Prince

Magpie

Immortal
I was watching Extra while working on the computer when I caught a 'password' that I could enter in a drawing for something. After 20 minutes of trying to register for the site so I could enter the password, I typed in 'Hogwarts'.

Today I got an email that I had won two passes.

Now, I also won two passes for advance screening of Pirates of the Caribbean (the first) and I know they give out way more tickets than they have seats. My son and I went went quite early and were numbers 3 and 4 in the queue so we got in. I know we'll have to be that dedicated or more to get into this screening.

I actually have a friend flying in from Milwaukee to watch the movie with me the 21st.

And on a final note, the graphic designer in me noticed when I went to the movies this weekend, that all the posters for this movie have the title of the movie mostly obscured. Bold move.

Persistence pays! [;)]

We're going to see it on Saturday with our Tolkien Society friends. Definitely looking forward to it.

Nice montage of the posters. And, you're right, it's pretty gutsy to cover up the title. [shocked]

Have fun!

Congratulations, Magpie. My friend won advance tickets to the showing in my area, too. I'd have to say I'm very jealous of you both :P

You can more or less see the title, and I don't know a single person who wouldn't recognise the people on sight anyway.

I have to wait until next Friday (17th) to see it--grrr. (Just got my tix today in fact)

Interesting about the posters. I hope that the title isn't mostly covered up b/c *cough* we who have read the books know who "the Half-Blood Prince" is, and his story **I HOPE** is not just as obscured in the movie? [;)]

I can't wait. And I've read some amazing things about the cinematography and Nicholas Hooper's score. They say it is so much better than last time. And the DoP for Yates on this one already has an Oscar nom for Cineamotography...they are talking already about a possible similar nomination and maybe win for this film. Yes, they're raving about how the film looks--fantastic.

It's nice to hear someone win . Did you watch the other movies at the theater? I have the DVDs , but did not get to the theater when they were released.

Be sure to tell us how it is. I'll be going Wednesday, but it would be nice to have some idea beforehand.

Now I need to reread the sixth book this weekend. The poster reminded me that I like Ron's development in this one.

I'll try too watch the film as early as possible! Thanks for those images, I found publicity stills particularly good for this film.

I think a couple of comments are in order about that... I really really REALLY believe a new Dumbledore was the best that could ever happen to the series. I'm not sure Harris could have handled the pace of his character in these last books.

Radcliffe and Emma Watson have aged quite gracefully (fortunately for them!) Watson has become a very elegant, classy and pretty young woman, and it seems she does have a head above her shoulders... she has a promising future in the industry, and surely in much better category than Lindsay Lohan, just to name one of those actors that we simply lost along the way...

We try to go to movies on Thanksgiving day and Christmas day. I think HP usually worked out to a Thanksgiving showing.

...are a Hollywood factor. I think some of them are worried they'll always be considered 'child stars' so they do their darndest to appear 'adult' - which seems to translate as immoderate behavior and clothing. I don't mean to imply they must remain pure, chaste, and innocent. I just never feel as if the push to be 'adult' is sitting well with them. It's like a frantic, desperate kind of behavior.

Emma is poised, isn't she? But she has had her share of wardrobe malfunctions.

The cast talks a little about keeping a level head in terms of celebrity : Sex, drugs and death: The Harry Potter crew grow up

That is SO COOL!!!! And I've been lusting after the huge display at my local theatre for a few weeks now. I've asked them if I could have it when the film's done, but they're going to auction it off. RATS!

This is going to be so cool!!!! I'm listening to it on CD right now. Harry and Dumbledore have just crossed the lake! *shudder*
