For the U.S. sibs: don'tcha just love short work weeks? Then again, if you're like me, you thought Tuesday was Monday and this a.m. you realized you only have one more day to finish everything for the week instead of two more days. [crazy] Not that I'm one to complain. [;)]

IMHO, a weekend is to be celebrated no matter how fast it sneaks up on you, lol. With that in mind, pull up a comfy chair, or jump on a float in the pool, order up a virtual drink and tell us your exciting (or not so exciting) plans for the weekend.

*kicks juke box* "Speed of Sound" by Coldplay starts to fill the room.

Happy, fun weekend, everyone! [cool][laugh]

And have yourself a drink on me!

It's a lovely hot day here. The sun has been shining all day, so I left work a little early in order to spend some time in the garden. I think this glorious weather is supposed to continue throughout the weekend, so I should get lots done!

Neil had his latest operation this week, so he is laid up. It'd be nice to go for a long bike ride in this weather but I couldn't leave him sat inside all by himself!

I'm hoping this is the start of our summer, I do love that sunshine!

Happy weekend all!

naval with an "e" ?

Well, you know, the OJ lightly (or not so lightly) kissed with Peach Schnapps.

Thanks, barkeep!

My younger sis' is getting married next weekend (June 6th) and tempers are flaring between she and my mom. At some point they have to stop trying to drag me into this, right? Ha! Maybe after the wedding.

Anyway, the short week was great! But like you, Altaira, I've been all discombobulated about hitting my deadlines. [crazy]

I'll just have a beer and go sit in one of those nice quiet corners for a moment. Happy Friday, everyone!

And has been all week. My garden is growing rapidly (as the grass, which needs frequent cutting). Anyone want some fresh rhubarb? I've got way more than I could ever use.

I'll have a hard lemonade, please Altaira, since for once I don't think I'm doing any driving today. Tomorrow there's T-ball, but that's it.

Happy weekend, everyone!

Yep, I'm a granny once again! [:)] Granddaughter number three arrived this week. [:)] This makes a grand total of four precious little hobbits between the Gaffer's and my two sons. [:)] Whew! (Though not as big a whew as my lovely daughter-in-law is uttering.)

I'll take a glass of champagne to celebrate, please, Altaira.

Have a happy Friday and great weekend, one and all. Me, I now have to go call an editor and talk business, sigh -- probably just as well the champagne is virtual. [crazy]

*stuffs tip jar with MORE Texas peaches*

Well, my plans this weekend are pretty simple, because the only thing planned for sure is hanging out with my best friend on Sunday. :)

I'll have a Spring/Summer Usual, please, Altaira... thanks, and I hope you get your work done :D and have a great weekend! :)

Dang, but it's SO nice to have you back at TORn and back at Fiesta!!! [:)][heart]

A fuzzy navel, huh? Here you go, lady:

Although, I must confess, in preparation for you hopefully stopping by today, I went out and found a pina colada for every Fiesta you missed:

I was going to call you a cab, lol! [laugh]

Anyway, welcome welcome back!!!

*BIG hugs!*

and the wedding, Arwen's daughter. Hopefully tempers will settle down as the big day approaches.

*pours*

Here are two beers, just in case. [;)][laugh]

when it's Fiesta Friday - and sometimes I forget that!
Another perfect sunny hot day is presenting itself - so how about a huge iced coffee with lots of cream. Thanks ever so much!
I have been forcing myself to ride my bike everyday - a little further - the bike trail goes for over 30 miles along the creek. My thighs are getting stronger and soon I will have buns of steel. My garden is growing and finally my (bare root) Elberta peach tree has come alive. Guess it really needed the heat to pop out of dormancy. Friends and Family are making plans for summer visits so I am happy. I miss them.
Cheers all!

Now, there's something I haven't had in an Ent's age. Do you make pies with it? I used to love the rhubarb pie a friends mother made.

*fills tall glass with hard lemonade*

May your weekend continue to be gorgeous. [:)]

but there's little call for either pies or jams these days. I try to give away as much as I can but occasionally will make a rhubarb-strawberry pie that's delicious with lots of whipped cream. But it still looks beautiful in the garden this time of year.

And, may I say, you do NOT look old enough to have so many grand-kiddies running around.

Some pink champagne to celebrate a precious new baby girl.

Huge Congratulations!!! [laugh][heart][:)]

Well, my last child walked across the stage last night and graduated high school. Yet, it is not just a high scholl but a School of the Arts for Television and Motion Pictures. Last night, they announced they are embarking on a film that includes Mr. Lyon of Lord of the Rings Special Effects fame !

“I have given this same question-and-answer seminar at Harvard, Yale, USC, and UCLA and have never had more intelligent and insightful questions asked of me from any university student body,” remarked Mr. Moresco after the seminar. “These are the brightest and the most well-trained students I’ve seen anywhere.” Mr. Moresco indicated that he would like to shoot a film at G-Star Studios. “This is an amazing school. I haven’t seen anything like it. I want to come back with two films and shoot here.”
Mr. Moresco is the Executive Consultant on new professional/student cooperative film to be produced this summer at G-Star funded by the new G-Star Career & Education Scholarship Program where G-Star graduate students in college return to the school to produce a professional feature-length film. The film is entitled, Destiny and the Bulldozers. A second Oscar winner, Dean Lyon, is joining Mr. Moresco on the Destiny film as Special Effects Supervisor. Mr. Lyon won the Academy Award as Visual Special Effects Supervisor on all three Lord of the Rings movies. He also applied his craft to Independence Day, Armageddon and Air Force One. Mr. Lyon attended Mr. Moresco’s seminar also.
G-Star is the largest Film, TV Production and Acting high school in the nation; and the only high school in the world with a motion picture studio on campus...

I am still processing the fact that my little girl is no longer a little girl, and I am FINALLY done with school after 6 kids !! Yay ! It was a great ceremony and emotionally charged as graduations are known to be. In two weeks I will be leaving to see my youngest son graduate Basic Training for the Army. He has been named Platoon Leader and has lasted the longest of any Basic Training leader at Ft. Sill.

I am blessed and extremely grateful this weekend so please....drinks all around for everyone ! The sky's the limit !!

Cheers to all !

Sounds like a perfect weekend to me: a nice mix of planned and unplanned. [;)]

*pours mirivor into sparkling, iced 7-up*

Who? Me? Sure I'm getting work done... really I am. [laugh]

Have a great one!

I didn't get much sleep last night, and I want to actually stay up today XD I'll likely make a trip to Starbucks or something.

On Tuesday I met TORNsibbie and LJ friend elentari3018, which was great fun. I've also started doing art commissions and began my first yesterday. And even better, on Tuesday a friend and I are driving down to LA to meet GDT at his booksigning of "The Strain". I cannot wait! [laugh]

I also looked up hotel flights to NY and back... a roundtrip is 250 right now... after I am finished with this commission, methinks I'm going to have a long, serious conversation with the parental unit and then I'll buy a ticket for meself for a certain show in October...

It's been a good week.
